Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

I am inclined to agree with you based on cost/benefit assessment. I think at the end of the day, these are temporary noises which should be ignored. Whatever happens, the world/countries/people will adjust themselves.
In fact, many companies are benefitting from the crises as there is no new investment, no new company or bank result in monopoly.
How many large bank exist in the world which can be relied on by big countries? The number has rapidly declined. That's extremely good for those who survive.

Congratulations.
The tories destroyed the manufacturing and heavy industry base of the UK in favour of the Service industries and "city".
This government represents the "City" and is financed by it i.e, in hock to it.
Cameron and Osborne have sacrificed the well-being of the UK and Europe for their political needs.
Some are interested in their legacy or place in history. I would think next to Chamberlain and Bliar.
Europe was fed up with the UK and are probably glad to see back of the UK.
The financial centres will move to from the UK to France and Germany.
Sheer madness and the UK will regret it.
-----------------
All I have heard from our gallant heroic duo and the phobic tory right, is "what we want and get from Europe" and "not can we achieve with Europe".
Political adolescence.

I think UK will stay out for now, then come back when details are clearer.
Cameron should understand that the UK will benefit from Euro(pe) as soon as growth come back. No matter if we are in out out, but joining no is better now, when crises are at its peak.

Only reason France and Germany are doing anything now is because it's in their own interest to do so ... remember how they refused to help us the day we were forced to withdraw from the ERM ?

Tanker,
Do us a favour and stay in Florida.

Interesting the Euro-zone is said to have all the problems, but the Euro is up against the pound.
Since the coalition is in "charge", or looking for the next U-turn, how much is sterling down against the Euro and dollar.
Devaluation with no upturn in GDP
No expectancy of even short term growth which is generally expected.
But, Bulldog Britain is showing true grit.
I would prefer to have Blustering Cameron on the lead and the Bulldog leading him.
But he sure thinks he can lay down the rules for 20+ other countries.
--------
What is the population of the UK and that of the 17 or 20+ Euro countries?
He is -------------- into the wind and its running down his trousers.
