I have a feeling that the price of gold has over-inflated and is on a knife-edge, the recent fluctuations make me nervous about miners whose shares have ridden up with the value of gold, albeit at a much slower rate of course. Shares such as VGM who have a high cost of production will look a lot less attractive if the gold prices fall. It is after all, a very fickle set of markets!

Been saying same thing myself Skinny for the last 2 months. Always worked in previous bear markets. Wondering if its Oil stocks thats nicked some of the demand led power from gold ????.
Come to that conclusion my self. In a discussion with Winnie he said it could certainly be a af actor and now oil sp down just hope we get the usual pile into gold stocks.

Another precious metals focused miner Patagonia Gold has now completed the 2010/11 infill and extension drilling campaign on the Cap-Oeste gold and silver deposit in Argentina.
The company called the results extremely encouraging with bonanza gold and high silver grades intersected in a newly discovered zone, including 8.91 metres at 70.79 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 518 g/t silver in drill-hole CO-285.
Drilling is continuing on the Cap-Oeste deposit, which remains open along strike in both directions and down plunge.

PGD...
Well the last concensus figures are going to be blown apart after this upgrade this morning...
Patagonia Gold ForecastsYear Ending Revenue (m) Pre-tax (m) EPS P/E PEG EPS Grth. Div Yield
31-Dec-11 13.86 3.20 0.44p 147.7 n/a n/a n/a 0.0%
31-Dec-12 35.18 19.05 2.63p 24.7 0.0 +498% n/a 0.0%
So were looking at a massive increase in EPS for 2012 already at 498% and a falling of the prospective P/E.
Looks a steal at this price.
