it's about time it felt some love, that's for sure

BG GROUP
keep an eye on this one ...... sp was down fairly sharply this morning but has now recovered well, and the following just may have some credibility ....

BG has become the perfect target for a takeover attempt. Indeed, the company appears to have lost its way recently and is currently without a CEO. Former CEO Chris Finlayson was ousted by shareholders earlier this year, after only 16 months on the job.
What's more, some of the company's major projects are delayed and running over budget. Then there is Egypt, where the company has issued a Force Majeure. Egypt accounts for about 18% of BG's production and much of this gas is now being diverted away from export terminals, to the domestic market. This has hit the company's income from the region.
Nevertheless, BG does have some attractive assets. For example, the company is still producing around 600,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and is the world's most active LNG trader.

i've made so many bad calls of late that i'm just sitting on my hands

Fred1new - 24 Jun 2014 16:44 - 1973 of 2763

Can you sit on my hands too.

It is a B of a market!

cynic - 24 Jun 2014 16:59 - 1974 of 2763

i'ld rather not; your reputation travels before you, just as mine comes behind :-)

cynic - 27 Jun 2014 13:19 - 1975 of 2763

the following was written for EZJ, but probably alsoi applies to TCG and similar .......

french air strike
this was called off early this morning, i.e. 48 hours ahead of schedule, yet EZJ has dropped another 15p this morning on top of the thumping it has taken over the last 7/10 days

this looks a nonsense, not least because i'ld be surprised if EZJ had cancel many flights at all ...... certainly BA LHR/MRS was kept going with surprisingly little disruption throughout

my only caveat is that the chart looks pretty ugly

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=EZJ&Si

cynic - 27 Jun 2014 17:55 - 1976 of 2763

and all BA LHR/MRS flights took of on time today ...... i therefore think the impact on EZJ next figures will be small, always presupposing increased fuel costs do not impact excessively

goldfinger - 27 Jun 2014 18:14 - 1977 of 2763

Dont EZJ hedge fuel prices?????????????

cynic - 27 Jun 2014 21:08 - 1978 of 2763

i'ld guess so, but whether sufficiently no one knows

I'm 'doing a Croc' and watching and learning about Level 2 on RGS.

eg.

The idea is to make only three sections appear on each side. Two or four sections (or even more) mean you need to correct the filter.

Set the filter at 0.8 on both sides then see what happens.

As the first three sections fill and overflow or underflow, see how you need to change the filter setting so as to reset one side or the other to keep showing ONLY three sections of Buy and Sell prices.

As I type, BOs are set at 0.6% and SOs at 0.8% to maintain three section balance and the robots have quietened down quite a bit from previous high activity this morning.

Sometimes the settings are very wide apart, say 4.0% - 0.5%. This is when you can tell which way the market is being directed and place trading orders accordingly.

Have a play around yourself.

Time for a coffee.
