Well the market appears not to like that news too much. Despite 15% more gold under world standards, it's the extractable reserves down 6.8% which is causing the current sales. I still think it's a good hold.

very annoying that sp has tumbled back through both 25 and 50 dma, but then the markets are pretty dire anyway ..... gold still strong and this is still a first class company

for my part, i reluctantly dumped them having read the various brokers comments that you can pick up on Newswatch section of MAM ...... dare say i shall come back in, but not today!

the chart is now rather less than pretty .... whether or not sp will tumble all the way back down to about 1125 (200 dma) is a different matter ..... at time of writing, 1269 = -29

Doesn't look so good currently with general malaise as well. Hanging in for the moment, main write up in Momentum Investor at the weekend and one of their naps for 2008 on fast developing new mines.

but keep watching this .... POG has been hammered because of its slightly disappointing JORC statement (if that is the correct term), but sp has now completely tumbled out of bed ...... surely must be a buy if sp hits 200 dma, and there may even be some decent support before then ......
to repeat ..... i did not say buy; i said watch with a view to perhaps/probably buying in due course

Arbuthnot cut to sell this morning. I'd like a chance at the 200dma to get back in.

perhaps we'll get that ..... what target from Arbuthnot?

target, £10. Excessive if you ask me, I don't think this allows for the potential of the mines coming onstream.

thanks m8 .... will keep watching, but i agree £10.00 is unduly pessimistic i would have thought

nearly jumped back in yesterday, but glad i did not ...... long rns to be found on Newswatch, but below is a very brief extract .....
Last week's report by Wardell Armstrong International transferred some of the company's resources to a Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) basis, acceptable in the west, from Russian standards. However, a detailed look at the 318-page report has resulted in some analysts questioning Peter Hambro's ability to reach its 1 mln ounce production target by 2010.
sp now looks almost certain to fall to 200 dma, and the Q then is whether or not that will hold .... if not £10.00 next stop ...... of course, there are mutterings that POG could be a t/o target, but am sure any predator will also wait a while before throwing his hat in the ring.
CEY may make an interesting alternative gold play, even though that is something of a minnow

I read "some" of the report. I'm holding fire for the 200mda too and then a "let's see" approach. I don't doubt it's ability to reach the 1m ounce target - some of the developing mines could well prove quite exciting.

Jury's still out on this one for me at the moment but perhaps we won't be testing that 200dma support? Gold very strong again today and not long before we test the $850 level.

looks to me like support as predicted at 1200 from which sp has bounced ..... could do with PTH's wisdom!
