AVON Avon Rubber breaking out from a 6 week range formation. As been tipped several times over the XMAS period. New Products new customers.

i wonder if avon own(ed) the huge factory site in bradford-on-avon that was derelict for many years but has been completely redeveloped within the last couple of years

in fact, the history of captain palairet and stephen moulton and their rubber company (later sold out to avon) in b-on-a is interesting in itself ..... and even more so, the history of The Hall in b-on-a where sm lived

Yep its certainly turned around. Lower indicators look promising aswel. Pretty good volume for xmas period aswel.

this one has been promoted in several places of late, and it certainly looks an interesting one to follow in 2015, though the markets could be very lumpy and difficult

my only caveat is that it is MM-only, albeit that there are 6 of them, and also thinly traded with (max) lots of just 5,000 on offer

just a general caveat .....
the collapsed and collapsing oil price, linked to the slowdown in china, is wreaking havoc with businesses of all kinds across the world

a simplified example, based on a known case
petro-chem A (and a huge % of chems are oil derivatives) is priced by the manufacturer having taken into account the cost of his feedstock
he tries to sell it, but as the price of oil is suddenly massively cheaper, so is the cost to produce A, so his buyer(s) go elsewhere
the manufacturer reduces his price as he needs to shift his product
he again thinks he has a buyer, but the price of oil slumps further, so the buyer pulls out again

Hmmmmmm interesting similar to the question I was looking for on buying chemical stocks which I asked you about this weekend.
