Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

re - sp has dropped back pretty much to o'night levels

They say sell with the news, that is what it seems is happening

aldwickk - 24 Sep 2010 08:55 - 2820 of 6294

cynic - 24 Sep 2010 08:56 - 2821 of 6294

does one buy again at 490?

Balerboy - 24 Sep 2010 08:57 - 2822 of 6294

RF better to have too many rns's than none at all as with some companies.,.

required field - 24 Sep 2010 08:58 - 2823 of 6294

True.....so far very clear ones at that....

HARRYCAT - 24 Sep 2010 09:00 - 2824 of 6294

Cynic, yes for a short term bounce, imo. (although already 508p!)

Proselenes - 24 Sep 2010 09:02 - 2825 of 6294

The real news is still to come, that is the major two pieces of news.

Sea Lion upgrade and also "Other prospects update and upgrade".

:)

This morning shorters got toasted and had to close, creating a spike, then the short terms reload their shorts and try to get some of their losses back.

Should be a strong finish to the day IMO :)

Proselenes - 24 Sep 2010 09:02 - 2826 of 6294

cynic, you have no chance of buying at 490p !

markymar - 24 Sep 2010 09:13 - 2827 of 6294

I have taken some advice this morning from some one who is a geologist and I respect his opinion, this is very good news as to the flow rate, as this can be improved and no reason why you can not get this to flow even higher.

This will attract attention from other parties as its good news.

I am still under the assumption that an upgrade on the size of the prospect will be in the coming days and that its 500 mill bb +

Thats my penny worth so far

cynic - 24 Sep 2010 09:16 - 2828 of 6294

thanks marky .... your input respected as always

am i a buyer at 510'ish? ..... doubtful, given that i already hold a fair number (not a warehouse-full like marky!!)

Proselenes - 24 Sep 2010 09:16 - 2829 of 6294

marky, not only Sea Lion size, but also a full review (and addition of new prospects) of the licenses and their prospects.

Plenty of major news coming this way :)

Proselenes - 24 Sep 2010 09:17 - 2830 of 6294

Why would you buy cynic, you just sold at 504p the other day........

Bullshare - 24 Sep 2010 09:41 - 2831 of 6294

I'm a holder, as I have said before, but am surprised at all the news flow. Have also had my eye on Nautical oils newsflow, they seem to have been very clever with their strategy. I think RKH will now have to decide if they are an explorer or producer. They do not have the infastructure of someone like Cairn so will be interesting if they start farming out.

An upgrade in reserves is not going to be news.....everybody now expecting half a billion barrels....

HARRYCAT - 24 Sep 2010 09:53 - 2833 of 6294

Thought you'd gone to work rf!!!! Not tea break already? ;o)
Am happy to hold still. Not fast enough to have caught that bounce.

required field - 24 Sep 2010 09:56 - 2834 of 6294

Yes Harry....shall leave you in peace for a few hours....cheers...

cynic - 24 Sep 2010 09:57 - 2835 of 6294

and why on earth not Mr P? ..... if i had hindsight, the i would not have sold at any point, but having suffered many horrors over the years by allowing pure greed to rule over common sense, taking profits when i did was more than prudent ...... that was history .... now we are dealing with today with arguably more news (not guesswork or hype) on the table ..... why should i care if i end up paying more than for what i previously sold, if that is what i decide to do?

markymar - 24 Sep 2010 10:09 - 2836 of 6294

Some times you have to think outside the box to fully understand what is going on and what impact this will have in the FI and what future plans you have to make to accommodate what has happened with RKH strikeing oil.

Summary of Executive Council 16th September 2010.

The Task status report was discussed briefly in relation to Fisheries Resource Rent Policy; it was noted that this had lagged behind and needed to be moved forward. Outstanding Immigration issues were also touched upon and it was noted that a date should be set for this.

The first paper to be discussed was the results from Consultants studies on the proposed new port. The conclusions of the report were noted and further details/costings of studies were asked for to be ready for the October Exco.
