Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

The real news is still to come, that is the major two pieces of news.
Sea Lion upgrade and also "Other prospects update and upgrade".
:)
This morning shorters got toasted and had to close, creating a spike, then the short terms reload their shorts and try to get some of their losses back.
Should be a strong finish to the day IMO :)

marky, not only Sea Lion size, but also a full review (and addition of new prospects) of the licenses and their prospects.
Plenty of major news coming this way :)

I'm a holder, as I have said before, but am surprised at all the news flow. Have also had my eye on Nautical oils newsflow, they seem to have been very clever with their strategy. I think RKH will now have to decide if they are an explorer or producer. They do not have the infastructure of someone like Cairn so will be interesting if they start farming out.

An upgrade in reserves is not going to be news.....everybody now expecting half a billion barrels....

and why on earth not Mr P? ..... if i had hindsight, the i would not have sold at any point, but having suffered many horrors over the years by allowing pure greed to rule over common sense, taking profits when i did was more than prudent ...... that was history .... now we are dealing with today with arguably more news (not guesswork or hype) on the table ..... why should i care if i end up paying more than for what i previously sold, if that is what i decide to do?

The proposed new port being discussed will be part of the infrastructure that is already being implemeted. The new flights bringing more workers and support people are an indication of the increased activity.
Needless to say that the hisdtorical prime mover in the islands is the F.I.Company (FKL). If you look at their perfomance in the past 10 days you will see where a lot of the smart money is going. With more diverse interests it is much more stable.
Not ramping but pointing out a consequence of the oil industry's arrival.
