Symphony Plastic - anyone still in?? (SYM)

ticker - 02 Jul 2004 11:17

Has anyone any ideas as to why this stock has powered head today. I noticed that it moved slightly up just before close yesterday.

About time that it moves. I guess most people are out of this dog......

ticker - 02 Jul 2004 13:44 - 3 of 87

amberjane,

I don't have shares mag so don't know what the article is all about. Can you give a little sum up?

Cheers

Global Nomad - 09 Aug 2004 10:22 - 4 of 87

I have been keeping half an eye on this company for some time and wonder whether this is the signal that reverses the downward trend. Certainly all the pieces seem to be falling into place. Can anyone enlighten me further as to the failings of the company or mangagment which have led to this declining pattern and if anything else has altered that will start a consistent upswing?

thanks in advance..

PS I will also lookback on results, other posts etc and DMOR (do my own research)....

God ticker sorry I never saw your last message, I dont post every day so never noticed your request, hopefully you either bought the mag or found out what you wanted to know. As I say - sorry bout that!

Global - noticed recently a Director bought some (you have to check sometimes they do such small trades its insignificant) this is one i was losing heavily on but have applied my new strategy and bought recently at a low. My theory being they dont have to recover quite so much and I have sofened my earlier losses & am nearly back to break even so if they keep going....

MikeHardman - 09 Nov 2004 12:48 - 6 of 87

Added a few ~13.5p.
Chart picking up on hopes of +ve outcome to trial - could work up to 15p ahead of trial, and look at 20 or 25p if outcome favourable.
Its also just broken falling resistance from sep03.
And there's a longer-term falling resitance from Dec01 coming in around 20p now - so that would be a logical cap at the mo' as well.
Spread very narrow now - 13.25/13.5p...
It's still risky, but worth a punt, IMO.
Got your ears on, amber?

MikeHardman - 09 Nov 2004 14:53 - 7 of 87

Added more just below 14p

amberjane - 09 Nov 2004 15:58 - 8 of 87

Thanks Mike so if I add now I could get to break evens even quicker?

MikeHardman - 09 Nov 2004 18:56 - 9 of 87

That's the theory, Amber... (glad you said 'could')

petralva - 21 Dec 2004 15:22 - 10 of 87

one there court case any thoughts?

wilbs - 09 Jan 2005 18:17 - 11 of 87

Hi everyone. Anyone still interested in SYM? Ive been watching for a while and bought soume on thursday of last week.
The future looks good, Tesco, Somerfield and the co-op are customers and I am sure(IMHO) that more will follow. With the current green age that we live in and the amount of waste that we currently produce, the time has come for waste reduction and degradable products to take over. Now the court case is over, the sahre price will surely go in one direction. UP!! I may topup next week if the price drops. Its def one to watch.

Any comments anyone?

Regards,

wilbs

petralva - 09 Jan 2005 21:43 - 12 of 87

tipped by rhps on friday a few buys came in, price limit 17p and a 12 month price target of 35p.

queen1 - 10 Jan 2005 21:49 - 13 of 87

Well "up" was certainly the direction of the day - 36%! No offence to wilbs but I sincerely hope that you do not get a top-up opportunity following a price drop! Anyone know why such a big rise today?

wilbs - 11 Jan 2005 07:15 - 14 of 87

No offence taken queen1. If the price does drop then it is a great topup opportunity but I am more than happy for the sp to keep going in one direction. petralva mentioned it was tipped in rhps, must be why the increase. We will prob see a small drop today unless there is some news around the corner.

Well, another rise today, albeit a smaller one than yesterday. RHPS hangover or news as you suggested wilbs?

watcher - 12 Jan 2005 15:59 - 16 of 87

just starting collecting shares in sym, any big points I should know about before the sp does reach 35p?

SP looking frisky again today...

Global Nomad - 20 Jan 2005 19:18 - 19 of 87

Hi

I have been back watching this share recently but missed getting in before the recent rise....same old story..... todays news sent the shares back 10%, maybe this is short term. maybe a good time to come on board? potential as ever feels good. but is it still a 'dog' to quote the beginning of this thread, was the court case all that was holding it back?, does exposure to rising raw material prices demonstrate a lack of fore sight? At least the ability to renegotiate contracts seems present, lets hope to a better advantage.

Hi Global Nomad - Thanks for your post. For what it's worth (and trying not to ramp) I believe that longer term the sky could be the limit for SYM. From a "green" perspective this is the way that governments are going to have to go. Any company with a technology that is relatively easy to use and understand, but that could make a big difference from an environmental-impact perspective will be onto a winner. And I believe SYM is (IMHO etc).

petralva - 21 Jan 2005 07:57 - 21 of 87

looks like there happy to renew. http://allafrica.com/stories/200501120052.html.

Great new RNS notfication of major US/Canada distribution partnership with DPPI today.

DPPI pay $50k now and $550k later this year.

DPPI have a 1 year option to acquire 4 million SYM sahres at 30p - which undelines the price target for this share.

SYM will acquire 25% of DPPPI which must list on US/Can market within 2 years.

So SYM cover all US/Can with no capital/initial outlay on a marketing infra structure - sounds great to me.

Should put a spark in the SP - lots of buying this morning, shares up 1.75p.

Brings a new meaning to the expression "plastic money"?
