DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Possible revenue of over £2 mill spread over 3 to 4 years.
Not knocking any sales contract but this on its own won't save Biome on their cash burn!

Paul Mines, Chief Executive Officer said:
"I am pleased to report that despite a challenging market both divisions have made significant progress in bringing our innovative products a step closer to commercialisation. The RF division is developing a portable induction welding system with Durapipe and has delivered the first prototype. In addition, bioplastics division has signed a pre launch agreement with a leading manufacturer of single use foodservice products for BiomeHT, which is our innovative range of temperature stable bioplastics. During the period we have also aligned the cost base with the subdued demand in the bioplastics market in Europe."

Obviously not looked at the detail yet (do we need to) as I feel the first couple of figures says it all.
Over the last 6 months revenue down well down, losses well up.
Losses in last 6 months £1.1mill.
Cash in bank £1.2mill.

And whats the wording of this supposed to convey, 'Group Revenues reached £7.5m', as it makes it sound like revenues are climbing upward. There not!
That step closer to commercialisation will have to be a very big and very quick one, as if they burn cash at the present rate, after another six months they will only have £100,000 left.
Just about enough for a closing down party.
The end must be nigh!

Cynic,
Yet again you generalise.
I for one did sell out years ago.
Biome are the only stock I have held and then continue to post after selling.
My reasoning being that apart from my investment in the company resulting in a big loss, I still can't understand why they are still allowed to be quoted or/and trade on the LSE.
Some on here may remember that myself and others reported what was then Stanelco to the FSA, detailing multiple times when in our opinions they had mislead the market.
Multiple deadlines were passed, trials that just faded into the ether, with no explanations, or if there were explanations they were months later than was acceptable.
My main reasons to still post are hoping to see others start to consider official actions against the company as the only difference between Stanelco and Biome is the name.
I have never been one to gloat when investors loose money, but I presumably like you feel that those still in will end up with 'nothing'.
Because you still post on here, do you include yourself in the Muppet bracket!

Greek - as posted somewhere on the thread - I bought these as a gamble last year and as posted above, I've effectively written them off.
