Earthport: Ready to fly (EPO)

jdubb - 04 Mar 2004 17:44

Some good news at last from this weeks Shares mag. Tim Freeborn revisits the company and altho no firm details are given about new deals he says they will be announced this quarter. I would think that this could be at the same time as the interim results are announced. I for one will be holding on cos they will fly sooner rather than later! ( 8.30% up today!)

I suggest you call 02079071100 and speak to RC and make your own conclusion. in my conversation he is adamant that he has not misinformed anyone, but to keep invstors updated he gave timings which have been missed. In the future he will not give anymore. I dont think he is lying and that is why i still hold my 3m shares, even though now i wish i had never bought them!

Tradx - 20 Jul 2004 09:29 - 310 of 706

apple,

Sorry, I didn't think about the negative aspects of that! Anyway, Tim has given a pretty robust response, which from a journalist is refreshing to read. Wont do it again...:-(

regards to all.

oneill

You said, "Guys dont attack JW he has a right to put his point accross."

NO he DOESN'T have the right to make that kind of attack!

Especially when (as pointed out by Tim) he is protecting himself from libel action by the weasel word 'potentially' & this allows him to go ahead & say it anyway.

I was critical of the following words in the original article,

"Earthport heads for the sky
Earthport (EPO) offers a staggering opportunity"

BUT apart from that WE MUST ALL DO OUR OWN RESEARCH!

You can see Tims reply to me by clicking here

oneill you said, "1p hear we come." so we know where you stand on this share & I suppose you will be making as many negative comments as possible hoping to get there.

Tradx

Never mind, too late now!

Oh well, it was bound to happen eventually, I just wish we had had more time before this thread started to degenerate.

It may be time to BUY again.

jonny wilkinson - 20 Jul 2004 15:57 - 316 of 706

Tim Freeborn

I understand you are privy to deals agreed, maybe not signed but certainly not yet announced to the market, surely you have been made an 'insider' as a result of this information if correct while you remain a shareholder, did you sign relevant confidentiality letter before you were made an insider. Do you understand rules when in receipt of price sensitive information. Is your editor fully aware and in agreement to the position you hold within EPO.Perhaps you will confirm why Cunninghams comments that ' we only believe 30% of what we tell ourselves' were not reported earlier , do you agree this was a serious oversight with the benefit of hindsight.
Surely if Shares Magazine are to remain a creditable publication in the market place then in future you should check with the company due to sign the contract ie Post Office Counters UK ( most know about Hong Kong Post Office deal already mentioned in an RNS dated 31 Mar 04 re Hong Kong based high volume payments services contract ) to verify information supplied by EPO is correct including contact name you have spoken with, surely that will provide more comfort to the readers, though i must add the market should be told first if any such deal is likely to affect share price.
I note comments from some other posters about doing your own research, with repect if everyone adopts that line then its most unlikely a publication such as Shares Magazine will cease to operate, readers must feel confident when an article is published that information is accurate.
I wish to make clear i've no reason to believe you've not acted in good faith at all times but remember the priveleged position you hold unlike ordinary retail investors who i should say have every reason to believe what you write.

I'm sure with benefit of hindsight it would have been better not to have purchased shares in EPO, that way you remain totally impartial.

I trust you understand frustration shared by many investors with this stock and will consider my comments carefully before issue any response which i'm sure most here would appreciate.

gunnel - 20 Jul 2004 16:23 - 317 of 706

jonny wilkinson Who cares!

I have seen some of the rubbish that you write on ADVFN so I would say that people should take a look at your track record on that site before taking any notice of you!

This is what you do with your time, every day!

Fred1new - 20 Jul 2004 16:38 - 318 of 706

Boys and girls cool down. Your in the market place now not the play ground. If anybody says something is good it is often of less value than the price that you are being asked to pay. If its advertise the price includes the cost of advertising. You are playing big boys and girl games now and when you make a mistake due to lack of "judgement" you feel the pain. Nobody other than yourself made you buy a share in a company. Accept your responsibility and curb your greed. You can only buy a share in a company because somebody wishes to sell it to you. They are selling it to you because they don't think it is worth any more.

Have a nice day

Thanks for your interest in my most recent post, perhaps you failed to notice it was for Tim Freeborn, i can see the problem you have.

Maybe some day you will better understand who pays my wages and that i simply don't rely on the EPO dividend to keep me in the lifestyle i'm accustomed to.

JW

A sudden rush of buying at the end of the day.

I just don't know where this is going.

BTW
Don't just say sky high or zero unless you can explain why.

Baughfell - 20 Jul 2004 16:54 - 321 of 706

Jonny, you really ought to declare your interest here: disgruntled ex-EPO employee who always has to have someone to blame.

I have you filtered on ADVFN and you are now on filter on MoneyAM too.

mikeowen - 20 Jul 2004 16:54 - 322 of 706

Ref Tim Freeborns post 6/5/04

Can you confirm Tim are these typo errors of yours or are you trying to mislead your readers:-

..Cashflow positive 2nd qtr - now delayed to 3rd qtr
..Chinese contract generating cash July - now delayed to Oct
..Takeover of US deal imminent - DD delays/ staff illness/banking approval?
..Post Office signed in January - still not signed
..British Airways - was that mentioned?
..Neteller 7% fees - is that confirmed by Neteller?
..Ensurepay launch in US via partner in 2 weeks - still not launched?
..July note from Bridgewell - did broker forget he was getting married?
..Baltimore security sys not delivered - only discovering that now? 3 yearslater
..No rights issue or further fundraising..was it the same CEO that told u this?

Have probably missed a couple of points will add them in when i remember.

I'm not trying to conceal my identity in any way as far as Rob Cunningham is concerned, i'm pretty sure, as this board is owned and operated by shares magazine, and as Tim and Rob appear to have a healthy relationship then i'm pretty sure its possible my real identity which is correctly registered has already been disclosed, if not info is easily obtained, i've nothing to hide.

Anyway i've nothing personal against RC, he knows better than most as a shareholder its my right to voice my opinion as and when i choose, the best way to shut me up is for EPO to deliver results.

Finally i've no intention of continuing to post here as i've already made my position very clear on ADVFN board, theres nothing more to add, anyway my posts to date here have been directed to Tim Freeborn whom it appears is acting like me in good faith.

Regards

JW

Paulvoigt - 20 Jul 2004 17:38 - 324 of 706

bloody hell, it seems a few feathers have been ruffled, Im going to sit on the fence a little but confirm my interest in EPO to be circa 500,000 shares.

What I find curious is so many people are looking for a totally impartial fountain of news or knowledge, I'm a firm believer that you must treat every thing with scepticism in the first instance until you can qualify and cross reference the information.

Surely if you read anything from TF you take in to account 1. He has a vested interest that He has made public knowledge and 2. that there's a reasonable chance that He's a bit closer to the source and thefore perhaps the truth than some.

Insider trading or trading with some form of advantageous insight is universal isn't it?

On a more important note has any one any idea why 20 million shares traded today?

toldmeso - 20 Jul 2004 17:58 - 325 of 706

Hi mikeowen, maybe I can help.

In one of earthports RNS, the interims there was a section heading "AsiaPac alliance" which discussed the Hong Kong deal (Chinese contract generating cash July - now delayed to Oct).

It states " Issue of cards commenced in Q4 2003 and the payments service is expected to go live on July 1 2004 and to be fully operational by December 2004.

Fully operational normally implies its satisfied the clients requirements and goes LIVE, LIVE by December 2004.

Hope that helps.

Paulvoigt, there was a 8 million rollover. I'd say the price drifted down to possibly allow the rollover to happen, so I expect a substantial rise over the next few days.

Hope that helps thanks and have a good day.

Paulvoigt - 21 Jul 2004 15:57 - 326 of 706

No news, a mickey mouse 1 million shares traded and our broker friends want to mark it down again.

I must be clueless.

alderleyedge - 21 Jul 2004 22:41 - 327 of 706

looks like double bottom to me,hope it doesnt lie!

drunker50 - 21 Jul 2004 23:59 - 328 of 706

re: toldmeso
I dont think you will see any substantial rises until earthport ends its legal wrangles, even good news like contract wins won't do much to the price cos it could all be wiped away in the courts
