DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

what is it with you muppets? ...... SEO was always a joke stock, but instead of dumping them 2/3 years ago, you stayed on board and even got mugged when the name was changed ..... oy weh!

Cynic,
Yet again you generalise.
I for one did sell out years ago.
Biome are the only stock I have held and then continue to post after selling.
My reasoning being that apart from my investment in the company resulting in a big loss, I still can't understand why they are still allowed to be quoted or/and trade on the LSE.
Some on here may remember that myself and others reported what was then Stanelco to the FSA, detailing multiple times when in our opinions they had mislead the market.
Multiple deadlines were passed, trials that just faded into the ether, with no explanations, or if there were explanations they were months later than was acceptable.
My main reasons to still post are hoping to see others start to consider official actions against the company as the only difference between Stanelco and Biome is the name.
I have never been one to gloat when investors loose money, but I presumably like you feel that those still in will end up with 'nothing'.
Because you still post on here, do you include yourself in the Muppet bracket!

cynic - it must be lonely in that Ivory Tower.
Greek - as posted somewhere on the thread - I bought these as a gamble last year and as posted above, I've effectively written them off.

not at all ...... i often make bad mistakes, but have learnt to crystalise those losses, even if belatedly, to create a c/f loss ....... to nurse a running sore is just plain dumb

greek - i am often a total muppet and happily own up as same ..... i do not gloat when others lose money, but most assuredly i will thrown buckets of iced water on those who proclaim company X is a hidden gem when the facts and history blindingly indicate otherwise ..... this stock should leave me speechless, but clearly does not

Hi Skinny,
From 7th Sept, 'The sale will allow the Group to focus on its strategy to develop high margin, application led products'.
Nothing moving as yet apart from the share price.
Looking at todays trades, it appears the 'penny (or should that be 0.08p) has finally dropped'.
If this share was in a limbo dance contest it would win hands down!

A Xmas fable.
Promises, promises and even more promises, from Biome management remind me of how I was conned as a child.
From a very early age, I used to nag (no pun intended) my parents at Xmas for a pony.
One Xmas morning my parens told me that a suprise was waiting for me in the back garden.
When I looked, all I found was a pile of horse manure.
When I asked my Dad what a pile of poo was doing in the garden, he replied that 'The pony must have run off'.
At the age of 4 to 5, I had my doubts and everything my Dad told me after that, I did not believe.
I did though learn a valuable lesson, 'Promises are easily made, but often all you get left with, is a pile of poo.
