Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

As I am intimating in my opinion, seems to me that RPS have just been extra cautious for the moment, probably in light of the pending Merrill Lynch/Bank of America run Rights Issue/Placing, IMO.

...........Peter Hitchens, analyst at Panmure Gordon, said: "The appraisal drilling on the Sea Lion discovery will allow the company to get better information over the potential reserves in the field. A CPR on the current data would lead to a 30% reduction in the potential recoverable reserves. Although this might be construed as being a negative, we believe that this is an unhelpful comment rather than anything to get worried about.

"We believe that there is significant upside that could well see the reserve numbers increased and as the additional data is collected, the reserves in Sea Lion are likely to increase over the original 240 million barrels rather than decline."

David Hart, analyst at Westhouse Securities, added: "The large reduction in resource guidance in today's announcement has had a significant adverse impact on Rockhopper's shares this morning. However, we believe this is overdone. For now, assuming a more conservative resource estimate of 170mbbl for Sea Lion, we have reduced our target price to 495p but retained our 'buy' recommendation.

"However, we believe that there remains significant upside associated with Sea Lion, which will be unlocked following additional work, not least of which will include additional 3D seismic and drilling in 2011...........

it's amazing that prigs like MRSI were never given a good spanking in childhood to teach them to apologise when in the wrong and especially when clearly proven to be so

i suppose he thinks by descending to gutter-insults it precludes him

markymar - 13 Oct 2010 14:20 - 3221 of 6294

There could be up to 8 stacked fans, there maybe a presentation put up on RKH website to a presentation which was held in London last night at some point which should make things a little clearer.

Master RSI - 13 Oct 2010 14:46 - 3222 of 6294

now try to leave out the abuse

yes i do short stocks from time to time, but not RKH
i don't post about every single trade though i do reveal quite a few
however, i regularly post when i make bad calls (too damn often) and i NEVER EVER lie about trades that i say i have made

as i said, your apologies for the unwarranted slurs, including about my parentage and heritage, would be accepted though not expected

Proselenes - 13 Oct 2010 15:13 - 3226 of 6294

cynic, I see missing posts so I guess Master RSI is still being abusive etc..

Drop an email off to support@moneyam.com

They take a very dim view of abusive posters and trouble makers, thats all it will take to stop this little exchange of posts, I am sure it would all stop and clam down if you did that.

Alternatively squelch them as I have, I see their posts no more, but I also do not want to see others replies to the constant wind up posts that are now invisible to me.

Master RSI - 13 Oct 2010 15:14 - 3227 of 6294

re - as i said, your apologies for the unwarranted slurs, including about my parentage and heritage

You never told me were are you from or you religion if that is what are you saying, not I did ask, so I do not know what are you talking about.

You are talking too much rubbish, the problem is about yesterday sell and not tell

If you did not bother to say yesterday, then you should not bother to tell us this morning, as easy as that, otherwise not me but all do not believe your LIE

Master RSI - 13 Oct 2010 15:15 - 3228 of 6294

This will fall very quick... good thing I shorted this am.

Master RSI - 13 Oct 2010 16:12 - 3234 of 6294

It is pointing that there is a sindicate shorting the stock every so often, on todays trading pattern

I personally do not hold or short RKH at this stage

cynic - 13 Oct 2010 16:14 - 3235 of 6294

Pros ..... i take abuse in my stride, but thanks ...... i know from the past that Ian takes appropriate action when he feels necessary without need of a prompt ..... MRSI just displays himself in all his blazing true colours for all to see, so should i care?

=============

more to the point i should have stuck to my target of +/-400 with this morning's buy and banked that nice little profit ...... greed bit my bum, but no real harm done and i guess i'll stay put for now

============

just managed to resist the temptation to buy more at the last minute ...... it's probably not a bad bet, but a pretty silly risk to take o'night
