LONDON (SHARECAST) - Ormonde Mining has reported positive test results from the La Zarza Gold-Copper Project in southern Spain.
The group said a total of gold recovered from saleable floatation concentrates and gold recovered from pyrite concentrates should be higher than originally targeted.
"The unexpected recovery of a significant proportion of the gold by standard flotation to copper and lead concentrates is a very positive development which gives the company considerable confidence in the testwork programme

Smaller stock to watch
Ormonde Mining gained 2p to 17p after it gave estimates for its La Zarza project in Spain. The mining group said that its latest estimates showed indicated reserves of 85,000 tonnes of copper and 486,000 ounces of gold. Analysts at Seymour Pierce said that the estimates only extend to 500 metres and that there remains scope for the AIM-listed company to explore at greater depths.

Ormonde Extends New Salamanca Gold Zone to 2.5 Kilometres
DUBLIN & LONDON: 02 May 2006 - Ormonde Mining plc ('Ormonde' or 'the Company')
reports further positive exploration results obtained from the Salamanca Gold
Project in western Spain, where it is earning a 90 per cent interest. New
sampling has significantly increased the extent of a gold geochemical anomaly
reported in January 2006, which the Company believes could represent a large,
near-surface bulk-tonnage gold target.
HIGHLIGHTS
The previously reported gold anomaly has been extended by a further 1
kilometre, giving it a total length of 2.5 kilometres.
The width of the zone increases from around 200 metres to a maximum of 500
metres.
Of 50 new rock samples collected, 36 (72 per cent) returned grades greater
than 1 gram per tonne ('g/t') gold, with best results of 58.4, 39.9 and 37.4
g/t gold.
Kerr Anderson, Managing Director, said today,
'With this new extension the gold anomaly has got bigger and better and I
believe that we have identified the geochemical footprint of a near-surface bulk
tonnage gold target. Initial drilling during the summer months will test the
overall grade across this extensive zone, but at this early stage the size and
continuity of the anomaly are very impressive.'
'With Salamanca demonstrating very distinct potential, together with La Zarza we
now have two very strong projects to take the Company forward.'

Amities /....... Sat watching these for over two years and been in and out a few times but as a trader buying in large tranches { 1m+ ) and selling on small movement . Excellent news reg copper/ gold reserves being revised upwards; But far from being merely a copper/gold play its a prolific silver play . l cant think of many open cast silver mines outside Latin Americas and parts of Subsaharran AFRICA that are juste sitting there !! At its current price and its amazingly positive drilling statements reg Au,l bought a considerable amount in ORM as an investment .l notice MAN grp increased thier holding a day or so ago . ....Reg: Silver - lts a dual play .! . Chinas demand & consumption alone has lNCREASED a tad shy of 24 % year on year since 1999 with which to feed thier highly lucrative "hi-tec " electronics industry. That is quite astonishing . Gone are the days with China producing heavy labour intemsive products like tractors and millitary hardware and so forth ,,,The .ELECTRONICS sector contributes unkown wealth to Chinese coffers and will do for many years . And silver is USED IN EVERYTHING with a cicuit board as a constituent .Can anyone tell me of an electronic gadget without silicon cicuit board ? ..... . And while the American continue thier obcession-like mentality to buy all thier plasma TVs and gizmos China will continue want silver ! Juste as much as GOLD !!........and many of ORM s sites have proven huge silver deposits . .................ln addition silver has intrinsic value !! $ 13/14 p/oz recently. ..Low gearing reg coupled with figures of over 350g Au p/t makes ORM worthy of a quick lookover. ........@+ J........Another GFM in the making ?

Depends how much the punters want to chase it.
They normally go nuts for these stocks but as i hold i expect it to drop
again later, they never seem to rise 100% when i hold them :-))

have held a few of these for years off and on -now looking to get in again-but not while its sitting on that spike.Had i not been preoccupied with other matters i would have bought when chart ema s s showed it to be a technical buy at 3.75 and underlined that fact most strongly at a tad shy of 4p .......

Study suggests major cash flows for Ormonde tungsten project
StockMarketWire.com
Ormonde Mining says an independent study by consultants Scott Wilson indicates substantial net cash flows from open-pit mining at its Barruecopardo Tungsten Project in Spain.
The report suggests the optimum approach in the initial 10-year period would be by open pit at a design production capacity of 0.5m tonnes a year, an increase of 25% on previous estimated initial production rates.
It says the base case project is capable of generating 9.3m a year of averaged pre-tax operating cash flows for 10 years at the current tungsten price.
MD Kerr Anderson said, 'This is an excellent outcome for Ormonde Mining. The results have exceeded our expectations both in terms of net cash flow projections and the life of the open pit portion of the project.
'The study supports the directors' view that Barruecopardo would be amongst the largest producers of tungsten in the world outside of China, with real potential to further increase production rates post start-up.'
Story provided by StockMarketWire.com
I just checked out tungsten prices.-currently about $29. a kilo and is on the rise.
The expectation will be to mine .5 million tons a year.
At $29,000 a ton ,we are talking about $14,500,000,000. ($14.5 billion)

Thanks Halifax, what I picked up was the price of pure tungsten bars, so that makes .5 mill tons about $125. mill. '
