With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

cynic - 13 Dec 2010 12:34 - 3470 of 6187

it is you who keeps telling us (10 times a week) that BLNX is worth diddlysquat, and now that its sp will be just 50p in just a few weeks
i have now merely asked if end february was your concept of "a few weeks" for your prediction to be borne out

as for me, i have some in my portfolio and expect to keep them there - for more than few weeks

chessplayer - 13 Dec 2010 13:05 - 3471 of 6187

It seems to me that most of these shorters have such wishy wasy views, that it is an achievement to make any sense at all of their utterances. In other words ,I'm not sure that they know themselves whether they are coming or going!

tabasco - 13 Dec 2010 13:09 - 3472 of 6187

Or whether they have ever been?

cynic - 13 Dec 2010 13:12 - 3473 of 6187

as i have posted several times myself, BLNX's sp etc is very much built on sentiment and gut feel ..... thus, whether BLNX has a great or no future is a great unknown

Gausie - 13 Dec 2010 13:28 - 3474 of 6187

Cynic

What does buffet say about voting machines vs weighing machines?

cynic - 13 Dec 2010 13:34 - 3475 of 6187

i've no idea and nor do i much care

Gausie - 13 Dec 2010 13:40 - 3476 of 6187

Then you doom yourself to the fate he tries to warn you against.

tabasco - 13 Dec 2010 13:42 - 3477 of 6187

cynic - 13 Dec 2010 13:44 - 3478 of 6187

Gausie - you clearly think it is right to short BLNX, and if you have indeed done so, then good luck to you ..... assuredly i am not saying you are wrong to do so.

however, i have a different view, and have backed myself accordingly

tabasco - 13 Dec 2010 13:48 - 3479 of 6187

Buffet is an investor...not a trader!

Gausie - 13 Dec 2010 13:57 - 3480 of 6187

Here Tabby - this is for you, and any of your uneducated friends who may wish to address their ignorance:-
the investing philosophy of Warren Buffett

cynic - 13 Dec 2010 14:02 - 3481 of 6187

and don't forget that WB isn't remotely infallible either ..... and tabby, the difference between a trader and an investor is pure semantics

Gausie - 13 Dec 2010 14:06 - 3482 of 6187

Cynners - here's wb in his letter to shareholders 1987. The bold is my emphasis of wb's words.

Following Ben's teachings, Charlie and I let our marketable
equities tell us by their operating results - not by their daily,
or even yearly, price quotations - whether our investments are
successful. The market may ignore business success for a while,
but eventually will confirm it. As Ben said: "In the short run,
the market is a voting machine but in the long run it is a
weighing machine." The speed at which a business's success is
recognized, furthermore, is not that important as long as the
company's intrinsic value is increasing at a satisfactory rate.
In fact, delayed recognition can be an advantage: It may give us
the chance to buy more of a good thing at a bargain price.

Sometimes, of course, the market may judge a business to be
more valuable than the underlying facts would indicate it is. In
such a case, we will sell our holdings. Sometimes, also, we will
sell a security that is fairly valued or even undervalued because
we require funds for a still more undervalued investment or one
we believe we understand better.

i read and noted, but as i also said, WB is assuredly not always right either ..... i know you trying to be helpful (i think!), but in this instance it happens that i don't agree with your analysis - which is not to say that you are wrong

chessplayer - 13 Dec 2010 15:12 - 3484 of 6187

Quite a good article by Buffet.
In Blinkx case however,we had a flotation price of 45 pence,so the current price represents only about an 80% premium on that.Bear in mind also, that the primary reason for the price falling to the low teens had nothing to do with a lack of prospects.
Get your head out of the sand man

ptholden - 13 Dec 2010 18:03 - 3485 of 6187

What was the primary reason for the SP falling to the low teens?

tabasco - 13 Dec 2010 18:16 - 3486 of 6187

CynicI get where you are coming fromhow long before a trade becomes an investment?
