Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Who says DES has a duster-too early. If they do I see 2.50 as support. However many will get out and take what profit is left. Its dwindling every day now on uncertainty.

from your comments young marky, i guess you still (now?) think the chances of DES finding anything are increasingly remote

Thank goodness I ignored that shocker of a ramper Pro and sold out at 455p, I really can't see any reason why the price should go up for the remainder of this year, so I'm quite comfortable with my EOY forecast in the header.

with great difficulty, i have decided to stay neutral on both DES and RKH until after the result ..... if DES flukes it, then i'll be very happy to have missed out on the bottom .... however, the odds look to be weighted against a commercial find, and if that is the case, then there are some big falls ahead.
for the record, i have left my FOGL short running, at least for the time being

NEWS .........
Rockhopper in new 3D seismic survey with Desire
Falklands oil and gas explorer Rockhopper is to acquire a further 3D seismic survey. It has signed a new contract with Polarcus for use of the seismic vessel MV Polarcus Nadia.
Rockhopper will acquire 3D seismic over parts of its licence PL024 and adjacent areas which were not previously defined. It will also participate with Desire Petroleum on on areas of licences PL003 and PL004, in which it has a 7.5% working interest.
Desire has signed a contract with Polarcus allowing the companies to share the vessel, which is expected to start the survey in December with completion by the end of April.
A contract to process the data will be the subject of a separate invitation to tender.

Cynic,
Same as you, watching and waiting for the Des result. I will be almost certain to up my stake in RKH after the result. If the Des well is a duster, the sp of RKH is bound to drop by around 10%, whereas I feel that if Des do bring in the well, the the sp of RKH will not rise by more than 10%. Both scenarios look like leaving Rockhopper a nice weighed bet. I do feel RKH are now oversold.
