Company Profile

The Oxus Group was established in 1996 and quoted on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in London in 2001.

Oxus Gold plc is a UK based international mining group with gold mining interests in Central Asia. Oxus is the joint owner (50/50) with the government of Uzbekistan of Amantaytau Goldfields (AGF) which is developing several mining operations in the Tien Shan gold belt near Zarafshan.

as i say each to their own.... fatted sounds good to me.

cynic - 03 Dec 2007 16:17 - 391 of 817

but frotted is probably more fun!

smiler o - 03 Dec 2007 20:47 - 392 of 817

Hello ajcc..still money to be made me thinks....the games a foot !! GCM UP A TAD TODAY ???

ajcc - 04 Dec 2007 09:53 - 393 of 817

yes smiler - gcm interesting at the mo.... needs some firm news out now from the Bangla govt rather than the ifs and buts doing the rounds. i suspect will come to a head sooner rather than later though. Oxs looks a decent buy to me....

cynic - 04 Dec 2007 09:57 - 394 of 817

if you hold, then i guess little point other than to hang on (or bank the profit if you were clever enough to buy at 26), but the chart can scarcely be called inspiring, notwithstanding the sharp recovery of recent days

as usual cyn, as soon as u turn up as share price drops a lot and predict gloom, the opposite happens.
it doesnt matter whether its this share or one of the millions that u have an opinion on.
actually u dont really have opinions.........u just type meaningless words with no info on a particular company.
as for oxus, its a risky share but still prepared to hold and can use it as a tax loss if worse comes to worse......i aint that bothered.

cynic - 06 Dec 2007 08:58 - 396 of 817

for all that, it is surprising how often i call correctly .... for sure i make blunders too, but unlike you, i am man enough to own up to them ..... i am also reasonably good at biting the bullet and cutting losses .... are you?

scotinvestor - 06 Dec 2007 09:30 - 397 of 817

i hold onto shares.....i just keep a portfolio.........i've sold a few shares but mainly kept majority of a lot of companies..........what thats got to do with u i dont know.......

and if u ever read other threads where u trash me, u will KNOW that i have losses (well not until i sell)............anyway who cares, its only money.....most of it goes to gov anyway no matter what i do

Toya - 06 Dec 2007 09:33 - 398 of 817

?? Scot: if that's your attitude, why don't you just play Monopoly?

scotinvestor - 06 Dec 2007 09:50 - 399 of 817

i only sell to make just under 9k each year..........i cant do much else cos it means i pay extra in cgt

i dont have time for monopoly.........i buy a share and and track it from week to week

unfortunately i made more than 20k last year

Toya - 06 Dec 2007 09:53 - 400 of 817

What a painful dilemma for you Scot!

cynic - 06 Dec 2007 09:54 - 401 of 817

don't fret about him Toya .... he prob has Glaswegian ancestry ..... extraordinary how many pubs there are either built without windows or have permanent steel shutters over them

Toya - 06 Dec 2007 09:55 - 402 of 817

Cynic: I set out this morning with every intention of behaving myself today - but I find it so hard!!

cynic - 06 Dec 2007 09:57 - 403 of 817

passive share investing is far from sensible .... that is not to say one should trade rather as i do, but certainly one should keep a weather eye and act accordingly, whether it is to take profits, cut losses or move to cash etc etc ..... a paper profit (or loss) is no profit until realised

Toya - 06 Dec 2007 10:00 - 404 of 817

Well said.

scotinvestor - 06 Dec 2007 10:02 - 405 of 817

this is a thread about oxs..........not your opinion on life etc cynic like most other threads u do

cynic - 06 Dec 2007 10:26 - 406 of 817

nor, for that matter, is it a soapbox for your personal abuse

smiler o - 06 Dec 2007 10:38 - 407 of 817

I have traded oxs for well over a year and yes its a tad dodgy but timed right you can make .....but you do have to take your profit and run 26p now up to 42 thats a good enough profit for me , pos still more to come ? Cynic dont miss the tic up in FOGL when that rig gets to the FI !!!! :))

cynic - 06 Dec 2007 10:46 - 408 of 817

thanks for the reminder smiler ..... confess FOGL had slipped off my radar
