May bump into you kim. Have a good one.

3 monkies - 24 May 2012 18:16 - 3967 of 5221

Yes Kim absolutely wonderful - 85p each if one buys ten for all pot/hanging plants, £2.40 for 4 geraniums/non stop begonias, £1 a tray for ordinary begonias (6 per tray) £5 for 3 trays of other bedding plants. I have had a field day and kept myself oppupied enjoying the weather, I started last Sat. and kept a lot in the green house until today - they are all out now. Nice - the winters are so long I told myself to get my head from up my bum and make things pretty. Mission accomplished, I have 5 huge water butts which I shall use for watering. Not bad for a 63yr old 5' female dwarf. hahaha!!!!

dc as a matter of interest i have never eaten pheasant yet - nearest i got were firends who shoot them in season and offered them to me i knew they needed hanging up for best flavour but didnt have the time but what is the taste like pls i have never had the delight yet cheers

3 monkies - 24 May 2012 21:06 - 3975 of 5221

I spent 23yrs with my first life who loved shooting who sadly died in 1989 - I have cooked that many pheasants, rabbits etc. Had that may pheasants hanging until they maggoted and taken that much shot out of rabbits - enough to put me off game for life. That is me - everyone elses tastes and opinions are different. Just listening to Robin Gibbs hour, so sad. Just call me a bleeding bitch Gibby I would understand that haha!! GL

gibby - 24 May 2012 21:18 - 3976 of 5221

3ms maggots were a worry to me as usually i am away from home somewhere, and i heard one of my friends saying you can smoke them hanging up never had the time yet but i wouldnt mind trying atb

gibby - 24 May 2012 21:21 - 3977 of 5221

3 monkies - 24 May 2012 21:22 - 3978 of 5221

Why would you want to smoke a maggot, I have smoked salmon sat outside for hours with a smoke box you name it I've done it. (Sorry Gibby I did originate from Southerners). Good to have a laugh.

3 monkies - 24 May 2012 21:43 - 3981 of 5221

It is a virus called myxomatosis (myxi) punch it into your computer then you will realise why not to eat an infected rabbit. Do not eat it. My Dad once tried to con me, he made a curry I ased him what it was and he said CHICKEN I asked him to cross his heart and hope to die (I was only 14) he looked at me and shook his head, needless to say I did not eat it. It could very well have been a perfectly well rabbit but I could not stomache it. The unfortunate war years brough my Parents to the North. Hope you enjoy the South. Just Listenint to Jive Talking and booging down on my ownsome.

dreamcatcher - 24 May 2012 23:35 - 3982 of 5221

Gibby, nor have I eaten pheasant lol. They used to hang them on the farms till they
went blue. If I was given a brace would give them to the local pub ( you may of then gibby if you go to the local lol) or throw/chuck them out the window on the way home. Had steak tonight . plucked a few (hope ive spelt that right?)
