NIGHTHAWK 6 BAGGER ON DEBUT. (HAWK)

oilyrag - 12 Mar 2007 07:10

Pre IPO price 4p
Opening price on debut 25p
Floatation price 46p to raise 14million to extend Jolly Ranch
Current fair value estimate 114p
Market cap 70.59 million.
Value of Cisco Springs investments 98 million.
Value of Vogel investments 75 million.
Desparado trucking now Nightfox 250,000 for a 50% stake with partner Running Foxes.
Centurion Project Kansas, 150,000 for a 50% stake.
Jolly Ranch Colorado, 40,000 acres cost 356,000 for a 50% stake.
Cash in bank 7.75 million.

As this EPIC opens on AIM today anything could happen. On the one hand you have traders trying to cash in a sixfold profit. You will also have a clambering of traders after shares because, firstly they could only get 75% of their allocation because of demand. Secondly at 25p this company is still way under valued.

Cynic but no actual production.

cynic - 16 Jun 2008 21:31 - 402 of 1373

but seemingly no problem in finding commercial quantities if i have read correctly .... my very amateur interpretation is that they are just working out how to maximise, but am happy to be corrected.

Libertas Capital did a detailed report dated 18th June 2008 that has a valuation not far off the recent one from Hanson Westhouses (Hawk house brokers, 242p); quite a substantial 24-page read, a nice extract popular with the boards is:-

'We are initiating coverage of Nighthawk with a BUY. In our view it has the
potential to emulate the success of the mid-tier US E&P plays. We believe the market has yet to appreciate the possible scale of the Nighthawk reserve base and that the current market capitalisation of about 215m is well underpinned by the Cisco Springs project alone. The news flow should remain bullish in the months ahead - given the prospectivity of Nighthawks properties and the drilling and development programmes. Our one year price target is 235p/share based on an assessment of peer group valuations per mcf of gas and per barrel of oil and our estimate of risk-adjusted reserves. The target assumes broadly unchanged conditions in oil and gas markets.

This has come down a hell of a lot today.. anyone know whats going on?

scotinvestor - 26 Jun 2008 14:40 - 405 of 1373

mm's i imagine

cynic - 26 Jun 2008 15:01 - 406 of 1373

HAWK had a hell of a run and so a pause or even profit taking in the light of dire markets comes as no surprise

scotinvestor - 26 Jun 2008 15:03 - 407 of 1373

people have been shorting it down and i bet they will be buying at end of today

scotinvestor - 26 Jun 2008 15:04 - 408 of 1373

recent broker forecast of 242p!!and thats in last week

cynic - 26 Jun 2008 15:09 - 409 of 1373

though last week they would not have known details of this right issue and deal with Qataris ...... shall wait and see, not that there is much else to do.

thought of shorting more SOLA a couple of days ago .... now that WOULD have been a sensible move for once!

gnashlevel2 - 26 Jun 2008 15:58 - 410 of 1373

These seemingly inexplicable drops seem to happen across the board from time to time.
Stupidly cheap now and I'm in for more now the worst seems done.

hlyeo98 - 26 Jun 2008 16:19 - 411 of 1373

I doubt the worse is over yet.

scotinvestor - 26 Jun 2008 16:54 - 412 of 1373

what price do u think it will drop to hyleo? any clues

cynic - 26 Jun 2008 17:29 - 413 of 1373

HAWK has been a stunning performer for all sorts of good reasons ..... however, it is still a small company (have not checked how small) and was only fairly recently floated.

the chart below, of whatever value that might be, is pretty nasty, but i would hate to think sp would have to drop to 200 dma before finding solid support, though that is (i guess) the indication

Nighthawk Energy is a company that i feel is still worth investing in and that will make investors alot of money.

The reasons behind this statement are because of the following facts

1. Libertas Capital report 18th June 2008 was an excelelnt report which highlighted how good an investment Nighthawk is, giving this company a share price of 2.35 in 12 months

2. Powerhouse.com-23/6/08 report re emphasis the Libertas Capital report and also gives a valuation of 2.40

3. Cisco Springs (extract taken from Nighthawk website)

Nighthawk and Running Foxes, as part of their expansion and development plans at Cisco Springs, have constructed an independent pipeline tap and new production facilities. These facilities were commissioned in early December 2007.

Significant commercial and development benefits are expected from the implementation of the tap and new production facilities, which include:

The provision of a reliable means of natural gas transportation, coupled with sufficient pipeline capacity for the planned increase in production;

The eradication of third party sales tariffs;

A sales and transportation option for existing and planned wells in the acreage to the south of the US I-70

Interstate;

A reduction in the wellhead flowing pressures and the enhancement of both production rates and ultimate recovery through the new gas compression facilities; and

A strong competitive advantage for Nighthawk and Running Foxes in the Cisco Springs region.

Nighthawk and Running Foxes are well positioned to be the primary partnership in the Cisco Springs region through the future development of the project with substantial known gas reserves. The current drilling programme of over 60 wells, all targeting multiple pay zones at relatively shallow depths, is likely to confirm the presence of considerable further gas reserves. In addition, a focused land acquisition strategy offers the potential for significant upside.

Bad times in the market all round !.

hlyeo98 - 01 Jul 2008 11:16 - 416 of 1373

HAWK has been weak lately...looks like no support until 60p. It has gone up too fast.

gnashlevel2 - 01 Jul 2008 11:58 - 417 of 1373

wow hyleo98, never knew it was quite that technical. We'll just completely ignore the shorting campaign that seemed to be flagged in advance eh...

andysmith - 01 Jul 2008 12:41 - 418 of 1373

Banked my profit Friday as away for a few weeks and if shorters get hold of this it will knock it down for a time until reserves are proven and/or production starts.
Was (and still am) unsure if I'd done the right thing as the potential portfolio of HAWK is huge and hence the high price targets of several brokers and therefore have set a buy limit as this is still a good company and probably will get back my shares at a lower price.

gnashlevel2 - 01 Jul 2008 16:44 - 419 of 1373

makes sense Andy good luck. I tried that in the past but when Hawk goes up, it goes too quick for me to grab a slice of the lower sp's, making it mostly an exercise in stress for just a few shares extra.

The market is just terrible....no faith in the American economy...good stocks across the board being knocked down...!.
