Petrofac - service supplier to oil/gas industry (PFC)

cynic - 31 Jul 2006 16:46

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=PFC&Si

On 3rd July PFC announced that it was trading well ahead of expectations. Not surprisingly, sp jumped but has now fallen back pretty much to the same level as before the announcement.

While perhaps not as exciting as finding the next Cairn, remember that in the goldrush days, it was rarely the prospectors who made the money, but rather the suppliers of the spades and tents and stuff - e.g. Levis if memory serves me aright.

But why are you so emphatic about Tanker not being either?

cynic - 21 Sep 2012 14:34 - 410 of 839

very different styles of presentation - e.g. i don't think Tanks ever used cartoons and coloured type etc etc ..... not nearly so personally abusive either

Stan - 21 Sep 2012 14:37 - 411 of 839

True, I suppose I was drawn to their misspelling which seems common to both.

cynic - 24 Sep 2012 08:53 - 412 of 839

there's lots and lots of different sorts of charts and adherents to all of them ...... however, while sp remains in upward trend, as PFC clearly is, then both the upper and lower "limits" of all of these charts will also continue to rise - as indeed they have

Agree 100% Cynic, I am not short at the moment missed the boat, but there is plenty of scope for a short trade still if history continues to repeat itself re the indicators above and if you are a follower of tramlines. Stock will still be in an uptrend if this continues to happen. Just my opinion, this is a cracking stock.

cynic - 25 Sep 2012 08:36 - 414 of 839

hope you didn't short Chris ...... have you noticed how quiet MRSI has been? ...... actually, i suspect he has been removed from this board yet again

Chris Carson - 25 Sep 2012 09:54 - 415 of 839

No I didn't cynic, bit to volatile for me, spread on Caps quarterly over 8 pips :O) There are easier stocks to trade than this one, at the moment anyway.

RE - SEE and LEARN

Some have a lot to learn not only on charts, but others on their BIG MOUTH, not learning even when they are getting older.

The marked up this morning does not mean is on the way up again, the charting is for more pain before reached the bottom on this cycle.

At the moment there is support around the 38.2% fibonacci retracement as is normal for that to happen, the real support is about 1577p

Stan - 21 Sep 2012 10:12 - 2970 of 2981
As an aside chaps and not into charting methods myself except for support and resistance, what about market sentiment? and how do you factor that into the charting process? I'm just trying to see and to learn.

cynic - 25 Sep 2012 10:54 - 417 of 839

you silly little egocentric man - where did i ever make an observation as to what might happen with pfc in the short term? ..... did i ever disparage charts? - assuredly not ..... pfc will only get really interesting again once it breaks up firmly through whatever resistance you choose to pick out .....

now do us all a favour and crawl back into the primordial swamp where you belong

HARRYCAT - 25 Sep 2012 10:55 - 418 of 839

You spoke too soon Mr C.!!!

Chris Carson - 25 Sep 2012 10:56 - 419 of 839

magicjoe - Volume is a bit of concern to be bullish I agree, certainly having watched over the last nearly one and a half days if you can spend all day screen watching must be a day traders dream come true, sadly for me not an option at the mo, roll on retirement :O)

magicjoe - 25 Sep 2012 16:12 - 420 of 839

Some will never learn

" nic " Have " verval diarrhea " and can not stop to let it go all over the place

say it with picks ........ tumblr_lqbes0nhUP1qliq8n.jpg Your verbal vomit
Repulses me to the core
Think before you speak

cynic - 25 Sep 2012 22:33 - 421 of 839

good .... in that case crawl back whence you came

==================

in truth, if you stuck to posting your charts and intelligent comment, your stuff would be quite interesting

however, to ask you to refrain from your continual barrage of singularly tiresome personal abuse is almost certainly akin to asking a skunk to smell of roses

as i posted above ..... try to refrain from the continuous stream of tiresome personal abuse, not least when it contains much barely-disguised anti-semitism - it actually says an awful lot about your own character ......

if people wish to accept your "pearls of wisdom" then that is their option, as is their right to reject them ...... since when was it your duty to preach as if every word was "absolute truth", when in fact it is no more than opinion based on certain premises?

magicjoe - 26 Sep 2012 10:16 - 424 of 839

btw ... share price revisited under 1600 this morning

What goes up goes down soon after

Chart.aspx?Provider=Intra&Code=PFC&Size=

cynic - 26 Sep 2012 10:20 - 425 of 839

and so? ...... in fact, i sold 2/3 of my holding this morning at 1604 for a very nice profit, and as a precaution against potential continuing market malaise

================

there is also of course, the argument that a well-performing share will continue to do so whereas one that "misbehaves" will also continue to do so

i suppose i have to add the really unnecessary caveat that no share or market goes in a given direction in a straight line for very long

magicjoe - 26 Sep 2012 10:33 - 426 of 839

here we go again, giving history a new review

Someone is on FIRE, call anyone with water or is a blanket what is needed, maybe a body restrainer is most likely

forget it all ........ is mad like a hatter

Chris Carson - 26 Sep 2012 11:14 - 428 of 839

Pity you have to be so abusive to cynic, I know full well for some inane reason he winds you up, take your tablets mate you are better than that. Kind regards CC
