Marchpole is one of those stocks which have had a really bad time. Boardroom battles, losses, price collapse, profit warnings up the ying yang.
Now all of those things seem to be sorted out, new management are getting to grips, new contracts and the price is on the up. So much so that Monday ought to see a 50/200 day MA golden cross.
DYOR of course, but I think I will be putting a few of these away at the open.

MPH - BUY note just out from Peels.
Summary:
Q3 sales +31% on last year, Ytd sales +72% on last year. This is marginally ahead of our current sales estimate assumptions (Q3 sales +28%). No upgrade at this stage but with strong sales visibility (c4-6 months), scope for a FY upgrade still exists despite the impact of new contract set up costs. Also - expect further news of new licence wins going forward.

there may be a small amount of short term profit taking but this will be heading for 35p + before the full year.
with the co. already announcing high expectations and with the share still trading on a single digit forward p/e with over 30% growth it still rates as one of the most undervalued stocks around.
what other high street retailer can hope to get even near a 30% growth for the lead up to christmas.

Fraud? Marchbank is in talks to acquire the Louis Feraud brand! ROFL!
Technical signals moving positively. Fundamentals good. Parsonmead unnecessarily parsimonious - that the trouble with these clerics! The future is bright! The future is Marchbank!

Great to see the humour on this board. Fun support for a fun company. By the way, Christmas not really important for men's tailoring! Ahead of the forecasts again! New brands afoot. sp well below the high. legal case a storm in a teacup. Great share to tuck away.

Eric,
Must agree, have high hopes for mph in 2005. Hopefully the spat with Boateng will be dealt with soon and we'll have another brand or two on board this year.
So far Feraud (spelt with an E!) looks like an almost cert and maybe Cerruti is a possibility?
Shall wait and see..

Didn't expect todays sp drop, seems strange that so many people are selling! Same thing happened just before the trading update and lots of people missed out on the rise. Oh well each to there own..

A lot of 'stale bulls' to be cleared out. Once they have gone, the share should resume its climb north again. Chart looks a bit of a mess though with no clear direction.

seems as though a lot of people went to sleep last night already determined to lock in yesterdays (mon) increase. Easily done; fall asleep dreaming of percentage gains, wake up, drink several cups of coffee and before you know it your finger is autopiloting on the sell button. I expect/hope to see much more positive next few days.

It is down as the retailers are all suffering on the high street with the poorest x'mas sales in a decade. I think it will go down further.

Anybody thats been keeping an eye on advfn/daily trades? Looks like somebodys accumulating big time, wouldn't surprise me if we get rns to this effect sometime soon. Is this the reason why the sp is not moving as it should....... surely not!

lex1000,
Agreed. We know how well sales are going and we have the potential plus factor of the OB legal matters being sorted out, somebody buying (looks that way) and the possible purchase of L Feraud. Also as 016622 pointed out were currently sat on the bottom of the long term trading line.

bradley, click on quote for MPH and news dated 30/11/04 & 15/12/204 refers.Minor falling out over respective obligations re:contractual agreements, hopefully sorted out in the not too distant future.Ruling favours MPH awarded costs, withholding payments etc.Storm in a tea cup best describes.
MPH trading is strong, however,sp down on general retail sentiment and in time should recover back to 37p upwards.Holding.imho.
