Spaceman - 28 Jan 2005 23:56

CLOSED - THANKS to all customers for the last few years

Spaceman - 27 May 2005 23:29 - 4398 of 24230

Al, I am just back from your place, been lowering the tone a bit ;-)

Spaceman - 27 May 2005 23:30 - 4399 of 24230

OK its time for Later on BBC 2 Van Morrison on tonight. Back later for a bed time southern comfort.

Socrates - 28 May 2005 07:06 - 4400 of 24230

Too hot, too hot. Can't sleep so got up at the crack of sparrows. I think I'll have bowl of gruel and a cuppa.

Spaceman - 28 May 2005 09:37 - 4401 of 24230

Socs, much cooler in hastings this morning.

I am off to Norfolk for the rest of the weekend. Look after the place while I am away.

optomistic - 28 May 2005 09:59 - 4402 of 24230

Al, I know Choccy said she wanted a manual. Just changed it a bit, perhaps a Manuel delivering a manual would be OK, would it be a service manual (for her car perhaps)
Morning all

Socrates - 28 May 2005 10:09 - 4403 of 24230

Hello Spaceman and Opto, much cooler here too. Just as well, yesterday was OTT for an English spring day.

Opto
Was that Manuel handling?

I'm off out shopping later, first trip in new charra. As usual, dealer left about half a pint of petrol in it. Their excuse is that if the car gets stolen off the forecourt, the tea-leaf won't get far. Doesn't do much for customer service though.

optomistic - 28 May 2005 10:14 - 4404 of 24230

Morning Socs, another Beamer?

Fundamentalist - 28 May 2005 10:15 - 4405 of 24230

Yes, I always wanted a saloon but the first beamer was a "touring" model, that's an estate to "mature" people like me. (Didn't we used to call them shooting-brakes?). This one is a 523i.

It was a great motor, engine to die for, but a bit on the noisy side. This saloon is much higher on the "Comfy" scale. I was hoping it might be more economical too, a 2.5 as opposed to 2.8, but I find the recommended fuel grade is the super-unleaded so probably no gain there. Time will tell.

STORMCALLER - 28 May 2005 12:00 - 4408 of 24230

Morning all,

Socs,
If economy was important why not 5 series diesel?? don't think that uses any unleaded at all...:-)
Feel certain the new motor might curtail your more extravavgant driving tendencies, but with luck the cossetting will be adequate recompense, 2 people at work have similar, and have thus far been delighted with them, hope yours is as enjoyable!

Socrates - 28 May 2005 12:57 - 4409 of 24230

I love it already and only driven a few miles in it.

chocolat - 28 May 2005 13:26 - 4410 of 24230

Is that because you ran out of fuel, Socs?

Big Al - 28 May 2005 13:28 - 4411 of 24230

ROFLMAO!

chocolat - 28 May 2005 13:33 - 4412 of 24230

I take it you are on to the third of your Ps, BigA?

Socrates - 28 May 2005 13:35 - 4413 of 24230

Chocolat
No, I just stopped peddling.

Big Al - 28 May 2005 13:45 - 4414 of 24230

I wish, Choccy. Just taking a break so thought I'd drift in to see what was going down.

Back to it!

optomistic - 28 May 2005 14:39 - 4415 of 24230

Nice motor Socs I hope you get great pleasure from it.
I've just bought new mouse from PC World. BELKIN Wireless optical for 14.99 with Lifetime Guarantee lovely action and that guarantee!!

Socrates - 28 May 2005 16:46 - 4416 of 24230

Opto
I have the Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse, it is great not to have that electric string cluttering up the place. The keyboard is fine but I do find that the mouse has a hunger for batteries. I buy them by the dozen to ensure that I don't get stuck with a dead mouse.

Thanks for the comment re. the car, I hope I shall enjoy it too.

optomistic - 28 May 2005 16:59 - 4417 of 24230

Socs I'll see how it goes with the batteries that were supplied if it uses them fast I'll use some rechargable ones. Keep a couple topped up ready.
