On 3rd July PFC announced that it was trading well ahead of expectations. Not surprisingly, sp jumped but has now fallen back pretty much to the same level as before the announcement.
While perhaps not as exciting as finding the next Cairn, remember that in the goldrush days, it was rarely the prospectors who made the money, but rather the suppliers of the spades and tents and stuff - e.g. Levis if memory serves me aright.

that first part makes no sense at all .... it is the charts i post from this site that i call "simpleton's charts" not yours MRSI ..... as i have posted before, when you post sensibly and without the abusive addenda, it is generally interesting even if one does not necessarily agree with the conclusions

re - simpleton's char
Maybe I did asume a bit, but as you post was after my chart and my knowledge of calling yourself names was "not" on my domain
I have noticed lately that you have soften your tone towards me though are directed to MRSI, when I am " magicjoe " ( most likely due to others comments about my charting knowlege on your own thread, where my predictions were not only correct but spot on so far )
Maybe we should draw a line, and you try not to be so irritating on starting arguments ( mainly going to threads I startet posting ) . I do go for the jagular if I see this happens, cut it out and let them know no "pussy footing" around is my motto.
good day

fine by me ..... i am well aware that i often set myself up and certainly never take offense at any well-deserved riposte ..... an modicum of humour therein can soften the barb!
as i have always been happy to acknowledge, your chart interpretation is often good and frequently even accurate after the event ..... however, i suspect that you are more of a day trader than most here, so "instant momentum" in either direction is not only important, but has to be monitored by the minute

i do not recollect PFC ever missing target, but nevertheless, sp has a habit of being sold off on results .... let's see what happens this morning ..... if there is a sell-off from "habit" rather than logic,, then shall seriously consider topping up

i'll be interested in MJ's (MRSI) view on this as i think he is a day trader, so has a different perspective

As no one spoted my target of 1535.82p being reached today, I had to do it myself.
Job done on a thread I was not interested to post, but just to proved the point.
The one who knows the business and the others than just talk but no back up.

well their results were very good (i thought) and though there has been a sell off comme d'habitude but also because the market has been looking very sick, i just stayed as i was
it's still a damn good stock/company, but not sure if MJ agrees or even cares, as he is a day trader who quite rightly trades on momentum and/or whatever theory he cares to follow

fibonacci, elliott wave, bollinger bands, GANN et etc ..... they all have their adherents, and thus can often be self-fulfilling, aided of course by the market conditions then prevailing ..... if things were really that predictable, then there would not be this plague of financial advisers and the like, and of course the banks and investment and pension funds would have avoided most of their disasters of recent years.

Oil services firm Petrofac (LON:PFC) has won a further inspection, maintenance and repair contract for the Rumaila oil field in Southern Iraq with its joint venture partner, China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC). The $229 million contract was awarded by BP (LON:BP.), via the Rumaila Operating Organisation (ROO), following a competitive tender.
The three-year contract, which is worth more than US$160 million to Petrofac, will be led by its Offshore Projects & Operations (OPO) business. The contract covers the inspection, maintenance and repair of degassing stations, rotating machinery and cluster pumping stations and came into effect on 1 November 2012.
Marwan Chedid, Chief Executive of Petrofac's Engineering, Construction, Operations & Maintenance (ECOM) division, commented: "We are delighted to have been awarded a further contract for the Rumaila field. This award is testament to Petrofac's ability to deliver to a high standard in Iraq and builds on the success we have achieved over the past year in this field. Alongside our partner CPECC, we look forward to developing further our relationship with BP Iraq and the Rumaila Operating Organisation and helping to ensure a safe and successful future for this flagship field."
