From the latest company's drilling update....17 Feb
http://moneyam.uk-wire.com/cgi-bin/articles/200402170700084897V.html
Can anyone with mining knowledge explain these terms....
What does sidetracking mean? Approx how ong will that take?
Approx. how long will it take to correct a deviated section?
Is 'crude oil in shale samples' a good indication that there is oil?
Is 'Gas-bearing porous sands being logged' a good indication that there is gas?
Basically what does logging involve ?
Any views re AEX potential??
Regards
Stephen

Bugz, know what you mean but there appears to be serious momentum behind this stock now and the press haven't got hold of it yet!

Hi Greyhound,
I had the same feeling thats why I have been buying all this week. Unfortunately I have no funds available to buy more today. I managed to buy some yesterday. I have a feeling we will be crossing the 30p mark soon. It could be that AEX will be recommended by tipsters over the weekend or some very positive RNS coming out soon. Lots of buying. L2 showing all arrows blue currently 4 MMs have buy orders @ 27.5 and 1 MM have sell order @28 one more @ 28.25 and the rest @ 28.50 it has been changing as I am writing. I am now convinced there is something up.

L2 Has changed again its 28.25/29
Bugz I am sorry to see you are still out in the cold. I know it is difficult to time it correctly but with this one I think you need to follow the crowed. I had the same problem after selling last week, did not know what to do but as you remember I got back in quickly and I am so glad I did. Time will tell weather I made the right decision. As it stands now I am making a hefty profit

First buy at 30 just gone through. Does anyone know if Edison's or anyone else for that matter have put out a new note yet? I seem to remember talk a while ago on this thread that Edison's would soon be writing a new one.

Back up again 29/30 on L2.
I think MMs are short of stock, so they tried to find some profit takers. It looks like something is up, as no one seems to know why suddenly SP has moved up 4.25p today.

I just had a quick look at the Aminex thread at TMF, apparently one of the fool has left a good thread. He had an interesting chat with some people he knew in the market.
He writes they have said that the news they are getting is that the Chinese and DRPK are due to make some sort of announcement over the weekend. Now, they thought this may relate to AEX; however, IMO, it is more likely some form of announcement ahead of the talks next week. If so, what coudl that be? Wild speculation time but coudl the Chinese be willing to build the reactor that DPRK wants in return for the DPRK disarming/ending their nuclear program and opening up to inspection?
This could explain todays heavy purchases.
Now if this wild speculation happens to be true, boy are we in for a ride!!!!

Thanks kaysmart.
I had wondered...........never saw that coming so didn't bother to top up unfortunately. Just kept moving up my sl's during the course of the day........at one point I was doing this every few minutes!
If there's any truth in that speculation then we should find out maybe as soon as next week (wednesday onwards). Then I will be topping up!

Very interesting kaysmart - that must have been a late development on TMF as hadn't seen it up until closing. Just continuing the SPECULATION, what if China offer to build the reactor in China but supplying power for NKorea. It's a long border and would keep the nuclear element out of the volatile hands of the North Koreans, whilst aleviating the energy problem. As I say, just a wild thought only.

Bill Richarson talking on bloomberg last night very positive about North Korea generally.Thinks that they will look towards USA sooner than later.

Don't bet on it, NK still yrs away and plenty of ups and downs in the meantime, even if we get anywhere with the talks, any lift in sp as result will be shortlived with so much profit taking potential. Sorry to be so negative, but seen it all before. A retrench back to sub 20 would be my next buyin. If I'm wrong then I'm out for good but in my experience theres always the chance to get cheaper than the majority of the mag readers who have been piling in. The shorters then take over..wait and see. Anyone who's taken profits don't get fooled and should be happy with their profit.

I really do not think there is the potential of sub-20p in the near future. Too many big buyers in the mid-20's and all they will do is to pick up more stock. There is the potential of a 10-15% drop as profit taking occurs at some point but not much more. With the SP moving up from 9p to 30p within 3 months it is more likely that the institutions are going to have a good look at it now, specially with a little bit of positive news from the six party talks which is expected to start next week.

No mention of Aminex in The Times today and the only indication of last week's rise I can find while trawling the web is that there was comment that the CEO and a shrewd investor have been buying up stock. However I see no RNS to that effect yet.

robstuff: Like you, I've been here before with SEO, MMG & GMC and many others, only to see the laws of gravity re-assert themselves. I started to pile into AEX in early August, thinking this would be a good long term hold, and I still do, but I can hardly believe its dramatic rise so I started locking in profits on my dealing account a couple of weeks ago (I switched into CSB) and on Monday, unless there is some fantastic news, I'm planning to sell my ISA holdings to realise a super profit. Hope though to rejoin AEX when things have settled down.

...The Hong Kong daily reported that China plans to take the lead in ensuring security in the region as the host of the six-party talks and, at the same time, to secure natural resources supplies from North Korea for the sake of its economic growth. The paper observed that to achieve these two goals, China wants to stabilize North Korea and ease tensions caused by the nuclear crisis by expanding its investment in and financial assistance to Pyongyang...
