NIGHTHAWK 6 BAGGER ON DEBUT. (HAWK)

oilyrag - 12 Mar 2007 07:10

Pre IPO price 4p
Opening price on debut 25p
Floatation price 46p to raise 14million to extend Jolly Ranch
Current fair value estimate 114p
Market cap 70.59 million.
Value of Cisco Springs investments 98 million.
Value of Vogel investments 75 million.
Desparado trucking now Nightfox 250,000 for a 50% stake with partner Running Foxes.
Centurion Project Kansas, 150,000 for a 50% stake.
Jolly Ranch Colorado, 40,000 acres cost 356,000 for a 50% stake.
Cash in bank 7.75 million.

As this EPIC opens on AIM today anything could happen. On the one hand you have traders trying to cash in a sixfold profit. You will also have a clambering of traders after shares because, firstly they could only get 75% of their allocation because of demand. Secondly at 25p this company is still way under valued.

lost or just made less? ...... i am happy that i sold half at 70 (at a profit), but remain puzzld as to quite why there should be any (such) excitement

silvermede - 18 Aug 2008 17:39 - 477 of 1373

looks like a definite breakout - still holding!

gnashlevel2 - 18 Aug 2008 21:29 - 478 of 1373

there has been talk something really significant is upcoming, but can't make out if this is in terms of land acquisition or a standalone hydrocarbon discovery. Also talk of much earlier exit sale for the company than people expected. Haven't been watching the boards closely as I should of late, so just have to wait and see, but glad to be topping up recently at 63p . Defo looks to be coming back into favour again

No actual production information, last year t/o was 65k lets hope this years results due at the end of september will justify the market cap.

Nighthawk Energy says pleased with results to-date from Jolly Ranch
AFX

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Nighthawk Energy Plc. said it is pleased with the results to-date from the Jolly Ranch project in Colorado.

Three wells, the Jolly 2-1, Jolly 16-1 and Craig 8-1, have been drilled to date, casing has been set and the wells are considered to be producers, the U.S. focused hydrocarbon production and development company said.

Commenting on results from Jolly Ranch, managing director David Bramhill said: 'There is still work to be done, however, indications are that Nighthawk has within its portfolio a project that if successfully developed will establish the company and Running Foxes into significant producers and leaseholders in the region.'

Nighthawk Energy says Waterflood operations now bearing fruit
AFX

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Nighthawk Energy Plc. said its Waterflood operations, namely the Buchanan Group projects, and the Devon Oilfield project and the Xenia development project are now bearing fruit.

In a statement, the U.S.-focused hydrocarbon production and development company said its expectations are high for the recently acquired Xenia project, located in Kansas.

Nighthawk has acquired a 50 percent working interest in the Xenia project from Running Foxes and development is now underway.

'Continuing drilling success at our Kansas and Missouri based projects should increase our reserve base considerably,' said managing director David Bramhill.

The company added that the U.S. refining demand remains robust and it expects these projects to provide significant and growing long term cash flow.

Confess, i was looking to buy last couple of days but declined, cant see whats so bad in RNS

BigTed - 18 Sep 2008 09:40 - 490 of 1373

surely it cant be flow rates...?

An average of three wells per week are currently being drilled to take advantage of good weather. To date, six wells have been perforated, put on pilot primary production (without water injection) and are flowing at rates of 1 to 2 barrels per day (BOPD) and approximately 30,000 cubic feet of gas per day in aggregate. The other wells drilled will be put on primary production in the near future. Once the waterflood process has been completed, production per well is expected to increase significantly, typically by between two and ten times over that seen under primary production.

I have never looked at hawk, but seen some refer todays fall and wonder why and
came across this which i feel you should read.

from a poster on triple i

Have received the following (part of) from David Bramhill. Hope this helps clarify the position and is serious enough for some posters.

"The year end results in respect of Nighthawk will be issued in mid to late October. Yes the results for 2007 were issued on 27 September, however, please do not construe that because the results are not issued on the same date that there may be a problem within the Company and that the results are late. In actual fact we have until end of December to issue these.

This year will be the first year tht the full results will be compiled under the new IFRS accounting policies - rather than UK GAP. You will see a dramatic change in the amount of information included within the report. There are a serious number of new disclosures, and new information to compile which of course takes a considerable amount of time to put
together.

In addition, because of our market cap the auditors actually had to visit our projects in the US to determine that they existed - believe it or not. Not a bad thing as I think that the more dd applied to companies the better. Again this takes extra time. I hope that you do not mind me spelling out to you chapter and verse as in this terrible market
many investors become very uncomfortable hence you, as an investor deserve an explanation - even if your question was a simple "when are your accounts issued this year?"

regards
cyril

andysmith - 26 Sep 2008 21:25 - 492 of 1373

I cant believe this is the levels that I bought in at back before Christmas and thank God I sold out for double my dosh once the shorters had a dabble back in June. Sometimes these de-rampers are annoying, in fact most times but in the current markets, the market cap was very high for a company still with little production but lots of potential and thats why I took my profit when I did (one of only a few things to go right in 2008!!).
I've been tempted to get back in many times but this share has seemed way to volatile, in fact at the moment its a traders dream and at these prices an opportunity for long-term investors to add to their holdings.
