SD, I've never used stockcharts.com, will take a look, cheers. I quite like Money AM's charts, seem simple enough to use. I like the feature where you can add the black line as I did in the chart. Also use Bigcharts for intraday Dow and Netdania for streaming fx. Also looked at Livecharts.co.uk but the constant adverts were a bit annoying.

Doc, cheers for the Oilbarrel link, good read.

proptrade - 02 Sep 2005 16:41 - 4809 of 7811

indeed. can you believe this thread is near 5000 posts!

gavdfc - 02 Sep 2005 16:43 - 4810 of 7811

Lol! Will probably get there in a week or so! More decent sized trades showing up just before and after the close.

proptrade - 02 Sep 2005 16:52 - 4811 of 7811

yup. good Katrina news for SEY and these nip above 20.

gavdfc - 02 Sep 2005 17:04 - 4812 of 7811

Hopefully by next week we will know a bit more if we were affected by the storm or not. From the link SWW posted yesterday, it seems that we may have missed the full impact of the storm. I assume that if SEY's operations had been badly affected then they would have to release an RNS advising of the damage etc, not sure if they would have to release one if there was no impact though.

stockdog,
You're right - my memory is failing fast. Once round the goldfish bowl and I've even forgotten that my name is...err...
How come you could recall that?

stockdog - 02 Sep 2005 19:45 - 4814 of 7811

Well, I remembered I had made a point about it and looking back to make sure my memory was working I discovered your's wasn't - lol!

Hoping Eugene is OK, but their off-take via LOOP (??) may be in a bit of a state - so still a way to go for the GoM to get back on track maybe.

Nice end to the week on reasonable volume. Feels good for next week.

Have a good weekend everyone.

still ticking higher...

stockdog - 05 Sep 2005 09:18 - 4817 of 7811

me - I'm just still ticking! - or is that still just ticking?

goal - 05 Sep 2005 09:22 - 4818 of 7811

Yes prop, an excellent start to the week.

stockdog - 05 Sep 2005 10:42 - 4819 of 7811

If we can tick past 19.75, we will then stand a good chance of assaulting the recent 20.75p high - and then . . .

proptrade - 05 Sep 2005 10:45 - 4820 of 7811

SD, as you point out, 19.5 bid. bodes well and good news should see 20.75 at least...

proptrade - 05 Sep 2005 13:04 - 4821 of 7811

19.75 bid....

Sterling Energy PLC
05 September 2005

Sterling Energy PLC (the 'Company')

Holding in Company

The Company was informed on 2 September 2005 by The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
('GS Inc') that, at the close of business on 30 August 2005, GS Inc, no longer
had a notifiable interest in the issued share capital of the Company.

This information is provided by RNS

Andy - 05 Sep 2005 14:59 - 4823 of 7811

According to Hemscott, these are the major shareholders;

AMVESCAP PLC 237,566,615 17.05%
Westmount Energy Ltd 70,000,000 5.02%
UBS AG 60,448,408 4.34%
Goldman Sachs Group Inc 42,958,953 3.08%
The Moore Macro Fund L.P 42,600,000 3.06%

So Goldman Sachs MAY only have sold .09 of one percent to issue the announcement.

Of course they could also have some more, but this may explain why the price has risen today.

gavdfc - 05 Sep 2005 15:18 - 4824 of 7811

Andy,

The way I read the RNS is that GS have sold a few to take them under the 3% mark. If they'd have sold a shed load then we probably wouldn't have had the rise that we have had. Also noticed a nice 1.5m at 20 from this morning.

Pond Life - 05 Sep 2005 16:02 - 4825 of 7811

20p bid.
Just as well, all my other oils are having a very bad day. DGO, BUR, VPC and TLW al in the red.

seawallwalker - 05 Sep 2005 16:05 - 4826 of 7811

With the amount of selling since the 1.5 mil buy, I expect this one to retrace a bit.

Just got home, still not in.

Nice bit of action, not understanding why GS would reduce at such a good time unless it's not........?
