Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

cynic - 07 Jul 2011 18:01 - 4911 of 6294

not f likely! .... far too steeply hilly for an aged wuss like me, but plenty of french masochists who revel in same

Les alpilles means small alpes and if I remember correctly are near avignon and you can see them from the autoroute and there might be a magnificent view on the camargue from the top there if it is not too hazy. Another day out is a drive to the top of mont ventoux near there...have not done it myself but will do one day....fantastic views of the alpes and pyrenees on a mistral day....local wines...chateau neuf du pape and the local camargue rose....have a nice hols cynic.....

cynic - 07 Jul 2011 21:12 - 4913 of 6294

this is near st remy .... it's walkable (about 8 miles) via GR6 and a few jolly side paths .... quite a steep climb of about 1500 feet, but of course comes all the way back down again ..... mont ventoux, of tour de france fame (infamy) is bouches du rhone (i think) and NE from here, though not that far

Loads to do around there that's for sure...

There certainly is - I am just planning a brief sojourn through La route des Grande Alpes in October. Despite only 15 miles to the gallon the Austin Healey should make it and but I could do with these RKH shares lifting from the 250's to help with the expense!

HARRYCAT - 08 Jul 2011 10:40 - 4916 of 6294

Flippin' heck avsec. You need to lean down the mixture a bit! you must be supporting the high oil price all on your own! ;o)

skinny - 08 Jul 2011 10:41 - 4917 of 6294

Avsec - which Healey do you have?

cynic - 08 Jul 2011 10:41 - 4918 of 6294

i thought a frogeye was much more economic than that

avsec - 08 Jul 2011 11:42 - 4919 of 6294

Sadly the Webber carbs are a tad thirsty but it goes like greased weasel dung!
This was on the way back from Le Mans Classique last year - after 3 high speed laps!

PS for the sake of bandwidth and thread drift I will remove this at c.o.p. tonight!

cynic - 08 Jul 2011 11:55 - 4921 of 6294

i knew you'ld readily snap at the bait!
AH3000 were certainly very pretty and potent cars of their time

avsec - 08 Jul 2011 12:00 - 4922 of 6294

Cynic you always are ahead of me - this time by an hour!

Skinny - thanx it is an early Mk111 Phase 2 hence the combined indicators!

It will be up for sale if RKH keep dropping like this - joking - this will be my hearse!

tyketto - 08 Jul 2011 13:00 - 4923 of 6294

skinny - 08 Jul 2011 13:32 - 4924 of 6294

avsec - I did have one briefly about 30 years ago - sadly mine was a dog and then the children came along................

Nothing that we don't know already, but still nice to read.

halifax - 08 Jul 2011 16:31 - 4927 of 6294

is RKH rapidly becoming "dead money" until 2015?

markymar - 08 Jul 2011 16:36 - 4928 of 6294

Why you think that Hal?
