THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

"Man blows up speed camera in attempt to avoid prosecution" - unfortunately for him the speeding images and the images of him coming back to blow up the camera where stored in the base. Must have been pig sick when he found that out

A guy is reading his paper when his wife walks up behind him and smacks him on the back of the head with a frying pan.
He asks, "What was that for?"
She says, "I found a piece of paper in your pocket with 'Betty Sue' written on it."
He says, "Jeez, honey, remember last week when I went to the track? 'Betty Sue' was the name of the horse I went there to bet on." She shrugs and walks away. Three days later he's reading his paper when she walks up behind him and smacks him on the back of the head again with the frying pan.
He asks, "What was that for?"
She answers, "Your horse called."

Been househunting today.
we shot 2 bungalows and a big bull detatched!!
Seriously. We been looking for a large lump of land to build our own on, or a knackered barn to do up, or something like that. Where the hell do people find 'em???
We see them done all over, and converted barns are all over the place, but we cannot find out how you get to know about them before they're sold!!
Ah well. Back to the drawing board, and living in my 2 up 2 down cardboard box.

Al, aren't there any estate agents round your way?

hewittalan6 - 07 Sep 2006 17:10 - 5325 of 81564

Loads, but...well......they're estate agents, aren't they!!!
if its any good, they just flog it on quick to a local developer. People like me don't have a snowball in hells chance.
The real problem is if its big enough for what we want to build, the owners get planning for a gazillion 3 storey shoeboxes, and flog it on to Barratt homes or someone, and when we have found something, the local council has tut-tutted our ideas and said that they need to put the maximum number of properties on any land they grant permission for.
Its a real ball ache. There must be a way, but I'm buggered if I can find it!!

There is a way - go to France and buy one there! When you've finished doing it up, I'll gladly come over and help you drink the contents of the cellar :o)

hewittalan6 - 07 Sep 2006 17:14 - 5327 of 81564

Would love to, ST, but I have a problem there.
I cannot continue to hold my licence with the FSA if I am resident abroad, so some of my business interests would have to fold. Interfering pratts that they are.
:-(((

Now that is a downer.

However, I am sure that you'll eventually be able to find the perfect property.

soul traders - 07 Sep 2006 17:33 - 5329 of 81564

Anyway, how about you and I turn our combined brain power to something even more rewarding?

Bright Things (BGT): up 400% today. The question is, will the rise continue, and will the compnay have the funds to see them through to profit?

hewittalan6 - 07 Sep 2006 17:47 - 5330 of 81564

Dunno and Dunno.
Outside of my realm and I haven't had time to have a look.
No money to stick in if I did, either.
life is just so shit, somedays.
