BT strikes deal to carry Sky Movies on its TV service

LONDON | Mon Oct 14, 2013 12:41pm BST
(Reuters) - Britain's BT has struck a deal to show BSkyB's Sky Movies on its TV service, marking an easing in tension between the companies that have been battling to attract soccer viewers since the summer.

Telecoms company BT said on Monday its television customers would be able to add Sky Movies for a monthly subscription from October 26. In addition, its broadband customers would be able to get Sky Movies as an on-demand service.

BT has ramped up its TV offer in recent months by adding sports channels that show some English Premier League soccer matches, encroaching on territory in sports programming dominated by BSkyB for 20 years.

I'm up almost 300% on these and picked up some tidy dividends along the way.

Long may it continue.

I didn't get in that low skinny I thing my first buy was at 110p and last one at around 140p for an average of about 120p.

Makes me laugh everyone calling them a buy now , same clowns were probably saying sell when we bought !

skinny - 15 Oct 2013 10:17 - 557 of 714

I remember when they were sub £1, the doom mongers were out in force - so I bought,

I also bought ARM at about the same time for around a quid.

Dil - 16 Oct 2013 00:56 - 558 of 714

I never understood tech stuff like ARM so tend not to touch as I can't place my own fair value on them.

Exception was the tech/internet bubble where I bought any old crap that was going up

:-)

That's a big feather in the cap for BT and a big loss to Sky, be interesting to see the reaction on Monday. ITV sp may be hit, good oppo to add :O) Sky are very professional, whether BT can match them in that regard remains to be seen. Reading between the lines and comments from across the road they may have to lease some of the games out initially.
