up to what price, though i fail to see what diff that makes? ..... any particular sector? ..... must it/they start with a particular letter or limit of syllables?

lex1000 - 03 Jan 2008 09:08 - 566 of 1154

You choose.Simply name the better investments you are talking about providing EPICs & todays mid price.

Rattle off your best half dozen.

cynic - 03 Jan 2008 09:33 - 567 of 1154

OK ... will do but first give me some time to catch up with real work at the office ..... may even add brief logic as to why the choice ..... will post on the FTSE thread, as prob better than here

lex1000 - 03 Jan 2008 09:37 - 568 of 1154

OK fair enough if you need time.As long termers I like DGO & TLW...

cynic - 03 Jan 2008 09:39 - 569 of 1154

DGO i don't know, but i also rate TLW, though i plumped for PMO instead

lex1000 - 03 Jan 2008 09:47 - 570 of 1154

Oil & gas good sector to be invested in.DGO,PMO & TLW imo safe long term plays.

lelael - 03 Jan 2008 09:58 - 571 of 1154

cynic I really enjoy reading your posts and have learnt a great deal from them but please note DGO has gone up 5% while you continue this discussion on PET,I thought we are here to make some money now not in 3/4 years.

cynic - 03 Jan 2008 10:00 - 572 of 1154

as i said, i have no idea who DGO are .... and yes i agree re PET - just read! ..... by the way, AL. have not done so badly this either!!

2517GEORGE - 03 Jan 2008 10:16 - 573 of 1154

Good morning cynic, re my post 557 I wasn't suggesting that I would hang on to PET because I had sold HTV too early, HTV was just 1 of a few examples I could have chosen, the reason I am hanging on to PET is that I believe there is considerable upside to come. I have 'lost' 40p as you say, twice actually but I can live with that, we are all here to make money but 'what is it they say' don't play the market if you cannot afford to lose the money invested.. Good luck all.

2517,agree with you.Holding PET for expected contract announcements will imo see high upside potentially beating the socks off trading in & out of shares.Risk to reward.Traders on MoneyAM no doubt will tell us different.lol

lex1000 - 03 Jan 2008 11:11 - 575 of 1154

If you beleive that PET is one of 5 companies who will have contract confirmed now is a good time to be holding. My prediction chart breakout is not that far away.Downtrend there to be broken lol.imho

cynic - 03 Jan 2008 11:19 - 576 of 1154

lex .... a brief post for the moment on FTSE thread for you

ptholden - 03 Jan 2008 11:48 - 577 of 1154

'Chart breakout' - 'not far away', based on what exactly?

cynic - 03 Jan 2008 11:56 - 578 of 1154

happy new year Peter! ..... i assume you are becoming cynic's doppelganger!

ptholden - 03 Jan 2008 12:01 - 579 of 1154

HNY Richard :)

I have been somewhat dubious re PETs chance of success for quite some time, well, a few years actually. The latest ramp managed to puff the SP to nearly 160p when the inevtiability of gravity took over. The second rise to 160p was actually a great shorting opportunity for anyone watching the MACD divergence, suffice to say I wasn't watching :(

Where it goes now I have no idea from a TA perspective it's difficult to say, but range bound would be my best guess. Of course there will be news at some stage which will move it one way or another. Still wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, but each to their own.

cynic - 03 Jan 2008 12:05 - 580 of 1154

oh you waspish old tart you!

ptholden - 03 Jan 2008 12:06 - 581 of 1154

Less of the old!!

cynic - 03 Jan 2008 12:18 - 582 of 1154

it's all relative!

cynic - 03 Jan 2008 13:23 - 583 of 1154

ok lex .... have done as promised on FTSE thread and even filled in the blanks as to the logic for my choices ..... there are also 3/4 alternates which i have not (yet?) expanded

2517GEORGE - 03 Jan 2008 14:54 - 584 of 1154

Thin volume so far, but some trades are going through above the offer price, any significance in this I wonder.
