Good morning cynic, re my post 557 I wasn't suggesting that I would hang on to PET because I had sold HTV too early, HTV was just 1 of a few examples I could have chosen, the reason I am hanging on to PET is that I believe there is considerable upside to come. I have 'lost' 40p as you say, twice actually but I can live with that, we are all here to make money but 'what is it they say' don't play the market if you cannot afford to lose the money invested.. Good luck all.

2517,agree with you.Holding PET for expected contract announcements will imo see high upside potentially beating the socks off trading in & out of shares.Risk to reward.Traders on MoneyAM no doubt will tell us different.lol

If you beleive that PET is one of 5 companies who will have contract confirmed now is a good time to be holding. My prediction chart breakout is not that far away.Downtrend there to be broken lol.imho

HNY Richard :)
I have been somewhat dubious re PETs chance of success for quite some time, well, a few years actually. The latest ramp managed to puff the SP to nearly 160p when the inevtiability of gravity took over. The second rise to 160p was actually a great shorting opportunity for anyone watching the MACD divergence, suffice to say I wasn't watching :(
Where it goes now I have no idea from a TA perspective it's difficult to say, but range bound would be my best guess. Of course there will be news at some stage which will move it one way or another. Still wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, but each to their own.

Thin volume so far, but some trades are going through above the offer price, any significance in this I wonder.

PET a bit like marmite, love it or hate it!I love it lol. Company website, presentation,AGM & feedback from those attending Dublin & London provide good background.Investors who have met & had dealings with David Horgan,MD,speak highly of him.Excellent investor relations contactable & DH replies to many e-mails personally some of which were copied here on MoneyAM.PET awarded major contract post Saddam era which continues on schedule & on budget.Things in Iraq are not perfect, there are risks & challenges.HCL remains under discussion & parliament needs to unify all political blocs. However,IOM currently involved with direct negotiations & contracts are due to announced end of month i.e using saddam law.PET have always worked closely with IOM (already registered) never got involved with KRG North Iraq or put a foot wrong.Hardened MoneyAM traders do not like PET&won't touch it with a bargepole.Furthermore do not understand those that do buy to hold 2-5 years to maximise gains post contracts through to production...Make no mistake PET has its fair share of traders T10-T25 which may cause volatility.Chart shows results of nasty double top which caught me by surprise.LikeTANs share price did run ahead of itself & got clobbered on being sold off. I am of the opinion that PET will get contracts in 2008 which will be reflected in share price.Going forward re-ratings on proven oil & gas reserves through to production.
I like current chart.Potentially bullish reversal in trend.Early days as it is, breakout is predicted.Wait for confirmed break above 130p if you wish.Bouncing of 25 day sma volume increasing, expectation of positive news.Initial target price back to 150p-160p.imho.Biased therefore DYOR.
p.s doubters feel free to hop on board anytime you like.

All eyes on the DOW which closed on 12,800. DOW Theory downtrend confirmation level. So IF it does close below, suggests a primary bear market is confirmed & all stocks will suffer. In my opinion one exception,PET! Anyone currently trading stocks on margin (risky) likely to get hit across number of stocks.Further forced selling automated stops & forced selling good stocks to cover bad calls.Much safer bought & paid for, investing money you can afford to tie up & lose.Times like this cash is king.

So why should PET be immune to your Bear market theory? (Well, actually someone else's theory because you rarely form your own opinion as evidenced by the amount of copying and pasting you indulge in).
Seems you have gone from a bullish breakout, with no TA evidence whatsoever to a tight trading range with the jury out! LoL
The jury is indeed out, could go either way, no reason to buy at this level.

ptholden, encouraged by progress being made in Iraq, positive weekend news & imo contracts not too far away. You do not include full quotes in your post but hey ho what's a "potentially bullish reversal...wait for confirmed break...& LOL" between friends.
At least we both agree on one stock TAN, fudge or no fudge! Take care & good luck next week.
