Unfortunately, the FBB is populated for the most part by a bunch of goons.
PCI ain't going anywhere until drilling starts. Good news and it'll fly, bad news and it's 8p. Set a stop and watch IMO.

Yes but it is not exactly galloping is it?
Seems a bit prone to conditions.
Tullow looks good, had a bit off them this week.

340,000 changed hands at 14p. Is this most likely two offers to buy at a keen price which some dealer has filled?
Looking at the current situation I am teeny weeny bit suspicious of manipulation. Drive the price down with a series of IOOk/200k sells, buy a lot low down in smallish quantities and then again heavily perhaps a few days ahead of the results to make it look like a results leak, then sell into the frenzied reaction - result a killing. Possible? Probable? I am sure one of you brains will remind me that just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get me. At least that's what my keeper always tells me.
Anyway, could it be done with a company as small as this using a few million shares?

You are being paranoid!
That would mean there are dishonest people in the City!
How could you say that?
I just can not believe you.
So there!

Well there's no need to be cross with me. I only asked. At least there are some buys this morning, lets hope they go up before the wife finds out how much I am down!

Chinapete, only kidding you! I know.
It is possible though surely, because the series of sells rattled the weak holders into selling, increasing the effect substantially. However the price will have to go up for whoever is doing this to make anything, and I take comfort from that. I still think the right strategy will be to top slice heavily at some point, which is plus 15.3 for me, but picking the right moment will be tricky, and I will probably do it in stages. Also bearing in mind where they are now am now getting less bullish about prices much above 17p unless there is a strike, or unless there is deliberate manipulation,in which case they will be driven higher. Collapses foaming at the mouth and chewing the carpet on seeing the latest sell price from his broker.

No need to get nervous about this.
The buys and sells are more or less level.
I have seen the cross section of rock strata where they are drilling, and there seems every likelyhood that there is a big puddle there beside the fault line.
A further point is that if there is as shown, there will be a corresponding one below the fault line which may either feed to top one or be tapped into later depeding how har down it is.
DYOR, imo etc.

674,000 unknowns gone through this morning at 14p. Anyone shed any light?

Chinapete, perhaps they're just trades between two parties at an agreed price. Maybe institutions just moving shares around between them at 14p.

Just released:
Petroceltic International PLC
27 September 2004
PETROCELTIC INTERNATIONAL PLC ('Petroceltic')
Petroceltic Signs Algeria Production Sharing Contract
As announced on 29 July 2004, Petroceltic was awarded the Isarene Permit (blocks
228 and 229 A) in the 5th Algerian International Licensing Round. Petroceltic is
pleased to announce that it has signed a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) with
Sonatrach the Algerian state oil company at a ceremony in Algiers yesterday.
The PSC sets out the terms for Petroceltic to explore for, appraise and produce
hydrocarbons within the Isarene permit area in the Ilizi petroleum basin of
southern Algeria.
The Isarene permit is over 10,200 sq kms in area equivalent to over 40 North Sea
blocks. There are already 6 gas discoveries within the permit. In addition one
well tested light oil at over 1,300 barrels a day. According to Sonatrach the
permit has discovered oil and gas resources of 28 million barrels and 380
billion cubic feet respectively with the potential for 400 million barrels of
oil and 4 trillion cubic feet of gas.
John Craven, Chief Executive of Petroceltic commented: 'This is a very
significant step for Petroceltic and is a cornerstone of our objective of
building a significant portfolio of prospective acreage in North Africa. Algeria
already supplies 25% of Europe's gas which is set to increase in the coming
years with new pipelines planned to Spain and Italy in addition to those already
commissioned. We concur with Sonatrach's view that the Isarene permit has
potential to contain considerable deposits of gas and oil. Petroceltic is
therefore stategically positioned to exploit the increasing demand for Algerian
hydrocarbons'.

Three more 100k sells driving the price down - dammit. What % change triggers an RNS.
One encouraging thing though - what other small cap could face this continuous selling without going through the floor!
