Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

It'll be a farmin'......has to be....will be surprised with anything else...

Sticking my head out but perhaps what Huhne said is right.

If as quoted by the Press Association above he said "....Some of the initial exploration that was undertaken in territorial waters of the Falkland Islands was disappointing....." then that is the case for DES, FOGL and others. However RKH has been - and still is - a resounding success.

As for Marky's comment about wanting to lower the SP, how could he suggest such a upright Minister of the Crown would perjure himself? That would be 'pointless'

This is the trouble with things like this...."some" is very much different to "the".....I wish people would get their facts right...anyway who cares....

Views from the Trading Floor by fox davies

Rockhopper (LON:RKH) look set to try its 52 week high of 351.25p again soon, as the shares were
4% dearer in trading at 342p. All the recent takeover and partnership speculation surrounding the
disputed waters, has continued to keep investors interested in the story. We remain very bullish on
the story and as a shop we have a 600p price target.

Brazil reiterates support for Argentina, denies any blockade to the Falklands
Brazil reiterated its support for Argentina’s Malvinas Islands sovereignty claim and insisted that solving the controversy with the UK is ‘most important’ for South America’s stability. It also pointed out that it’s not correct to talk about “a blockade

Argentina condemns the UK for its ‘bullying patriotism’ in the Malvinas dispute
Argentina condemned the announcement of the arrival of state of the art HMS Dauntless, a British warship, to the Falklands/Malvinas Islands and urged the UK to “avoid falling in the temptation of engaging in discourse that transforms patriotism in bullying patriotism.”

Hmmmm....if they are not careful we will stop buying their corned beef and send Tevez back. Then they will stop bleating!

TANKER - 01 Feb 2012 11:31 - 5836 of 6294

harry should i buy back in here

cynic - 01 Feb 2012 11:45 - 5837 of 6294

yes so long as you believe RKH will not remain (totally) independent for long, though GKP has arguably better chances and upside in the nearer future

HARRYCAT - 01 Feb 2012 11:55 - 5838 of 6294

Don't know T. I'm out of RKH at the mo. More of a long term play now, imo, but with huge potential if you are prepared to wait. Currently talk of t/o or farm in, but risky to buy purely on that strategy. Have made very good money here, but am always wary of becoming emotionally tied to a stock.

gibby - 01 Feb 2012 20:52 - 5839 of 6294

i dont think uk stopping buying bully beef will be enough - but i wouldnt send tevez back - that might be more than they could bear!! lol
