PS Dear All, Today's price rise is music to my eyeballs and finally gets me back into profit across all of my purchases! However, the proof of this particular pudding will be in the results of those three wells. Which I naturally hope will be good, cos if not, it's back to being patient for a while!!

bingobingham - 22 Apr 2006 12:42 - 585 of 2511

Frank, to buy a stock based on the comments here would be a mistake my friend. Do your own research. VOG is in its infancy and investors are very reliant on the forthcoming drilling results. Whilst the consensus is they will be positive, there are no certainties. This stock certainly comes with a high amount of risk IMO. That said, our investment club has a substantial VOG holding and we are very overweight on oil stocks. Eggs is one basket, just like Warren Buffett!

Kivver - 22 Apr 2006 13:28 - 586 of 2511

What have you found out from your research Frank????? What do you think??? If you are a newbie and come on these sites asking such advice im afraid you are on the short slope to disaster!!! what if Suehelen or onechunkymonkey came on and on gave some advice??? good luck!

Paulo2 - 22 Apr 2006 23:23 - 587 of 2511

Frank, DYOR research... and then put your house on it.

soul traders - 24 Apr 2006 09:13 - 588 of 2511

Hmmm . . . I'd like to be sure Frank has the experience and nous to tell a good buy from a bad one before he puts his house anywhere. After six years in the game, I'm still working on refining my own technique!

I believe an ancient philosopher once said, "Don't speculate with money you can't afford to lose." Good advice for anyone who is still learning the ropes.

Anyway, to bring us back "on thread", we have a nice 5p rise today on turnover of almost 900k shares - lovely jubbly!! Nice to see 250p again . . .

frankwilliams977 - 01 May 2006 08:48 - 590 of 2511

Well the volume is not too bad and after looking into the potential of the upcoming events, I think it is stil a good time to get in. and have just bought a good stake (have not mortgaged my property but added to my Portforlio) I wil wait for the upcoming results from wells 103 & 104 in May regardless my veiw is that just based on the wait of the results alone, will cause the share price to go up. I want to say thanks to every one who posted a reply to my question. I do like to do my own research but I think its good to go into the Think Tank and listen to the opions on others and here their experiances. Thank you all. I think this one is on the rise.

olami5 - 09 May 2006 10:46 - 591 of 2511

Does anyone know why the SP has suddenly dropped to below 240p?

Is there news on the way?

new boy - 09 May 2006 12:59 - 592 of 2511

Hello Olami5, I think theres alot of people with alot at stake in this one, there lots of nervous people out there, also you dont really know how much of the expected news is already built into the price already.

If news is delayed the price will go down to its resistance level , ifs its bad news i hate to think.

One the whole if you belieave the managment and done some research, long term it should a winner.

olami5 - 09 May 2006 13:19 - 593 of 2511

thanks new boy

BOING !!! (I've been waiting to say that for ages!! :o))

Up 16p - a decent rise at last. Given that there's now only two-thirds of May left, I guess we can hope that big juicy announcements are imminent.

Scores on the doors: VOG Bid: 247p Offer: 254p Change: 16 Volume: 1.5 mil and rising.

cynic - 13 May 2006 09:51 - 595 of 2511

Though VOG drifted back to about 236 over the last couple of days, it really is nothing untoward given the instability of the markets in general.

From memory, and I am too lazy to check, there are significant announcements due within the next week or so on Wells 103, 104 and 106 ...... Let's hope that news is all good.

skyhigh - 13 May 2006 10:21 - 596 of 2511

Yes. I agree...lets hope there's no setbacks/disappointments or sp will fall right back. Particularly, as you say, the mkt is volatile at the moment. can see a 5% market fall coming up as it's now the season for "sell in May and go away" ! FTSE to go down to 5500-5600 I think. (imho)

soul traders - 13 May 2006 14:00 - 597 of 2511

Cynic - you're right - announcements due this month.

cynic - 15 May 2006 07:57 - 598 of 2511

And the first result is a winnner!
Well 106 has come up trumps by the look of it.

Well 104 will not be drilling for a further couple of weeks due to a delay in getting the equipment.

Nice start to the week

skyhigh - 15 May 2006 08:26 - 599 of 2511

Yes.....! looks good !

skyhigh - 15 May 2006 08:44 - 600 of 2511

Shame it's released on a day when the market is taking a bashing ! but quality will win through over the coming months..
Be interesting to see if we get broker note upgrades etc.,

skyhigh - 15 May 2006 08:46 - 601 of 2511

Hooray for VOG... rest of my portfolio taking a beating this morning (as it did last week!)

skyhigh - 15 May 2006 08:53 - 602 of 2511

Spoke too soon ! even VOG pulling back on the sp... market is in freefall !

cynic - 15 May 2006 09:29 - 603 of 2511

It says something about the amount of positions that are now being forced to liquidate, when even VOG is now down a few pence even after the RNS.
