Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

I understand that Argentina has offered a new deal.
If we give them Scotland, they promise to give up any rights over the Falklands.
Looks a good deal to me.

Marky - agreed! It is just diversionary tactics.
Just keep looking at the lefthand graph above - it tells its own story.

Hi Markymar,
Having read the report twice, I feel that the US are only backing the statement by the UK that they are not militarising the south Atlantic.
I think their stance on the Falklands issue re ownership is the same as a few months ago. At that time they stated that the UK and Argentina should have talks and that they were not taking sides in the issue, whereas before they agreed that the Falklands were British and that talks were not needed.
Obama appears to want UK backing in everything military they are involved with, but won't reciprocate.
Typical of his 'I'm alright jack' policy.
The next time the US want our backing, even if its just for political reasons, unless it benefits us, we should tell him where to shove it.

If we do that we may lose our "special (one sided) relationship" with the yanks.

h
that reminds me of something i once read i think it was from the reminiscences of a stock operator. how having been given more than one dud so called inside tip and lost a bundle one wants to telephone the tipster to give him what for and a good piece of his mind. only to be reminded that it may not be wise to upset him, after all he may not give us any more tips he is told.
LoL i did when i read it.
