dai oldenrich - 01 May 2007 16:26

Tesco is one of the worlds leading international retailers. Since the company first the trading name of Tesco, in the mid 1920s, the group has expanded into different formats, different markets and different sectors. The UKs leading retailer Tesco was floated on the stock exchange in 1947 and in 1995 took over rival Sainsburys position as the UK number one. The principal activity of the group is food retailing, with over 2,000 stores worldwide. Tesco has a long term strategy for growth, based on four key parts: growth in the Core UK business, to expand by growing internationally, to be as strong in non-food as in food and to follow customers into new retailing services. The company launched a home shopping service in 2000, allowing customers to order their shopping online. Tesco is now expanding its convenience stores and overseas into areas such as Taiwan, Malaysia, Poland, the US and Ireland.

You need to be in before the 27th for the final div. Rf
The Board has approved a final dividend of 10.13p per share. Combined with the increase in the interim dividend, this brings the full year dividend increase to 2.1%, in line with the growth in full year underlying diluted earnings per share at a constant tax rate. Dividend cover has increased to a strong 2.5* times. The final dividend will be paid on 6 July 2012 to shareholders on the Register of Members at the close of business on 27 April 2012.

Morning all
my one remaining brain cell is confused, yes agree with skinny on dates, yes agree with BB on pay day,but not on final divi price . extract from tesco figures below
Dividend
The Board has approved a final dividend of 14.76p per share.

Thanks BB found it

HARRYCAT - 19 Apr 2012 08:59 - 595 of 1721

First divi was 4.63p paid on 23/12/11 (interim) and second divi will be 10.13p payable on 06/07/12 (Final) . The word final in the sentence 'The Board has approved a final dividend of 14.76p per share' has a slightly different meaning from that of a dividend break.

Thank you harry .

Looks like it might pull back into the 290's .....not in and as I'm no good at shorting....might wait for a bounce later....

Balerboy - 25 Apr 2012 08:37 - 600 of 1721

hope not rf, (W) Tankers £4 a bit off the mark, will continue to hold as they're bound to come back over the next 6 months.

yes...I'm sure a strong rebound will come...but perhaps not without a drop into the upper two hundreds first...
