lex ..... after all my hard work at your behest, i see no comment from you on FTSE thread

lex1000 - 03 Jan 2008 22:19 - 586 of 1154

Cynic, not been ignoring you, after my last post been out all day.Family had priority use of PC this evening! An interesting selection of stock picks to do further research & monitor.

lex1000 - 04 Jan 2008 00:14 - 587 of 1154

PET a bit like marmite, love it or hate it!I love it lol. Company website, presentation,AGM & feedback from those attending Dublin & London provide good background.Investors who have met & had dealings with David Horgan,MD,speak highly of him.Excellent investor relations contactable & DH replies to many e-mails personally some of which were copied here on MoneyAM.PET awarded major contract post Saddam era which continues on schedule & on budget.Things in Iraq are not perfect, there are risks & challenges.HCL remains under discussion & parliament needs to unify all political blocs. However,IOM currently involved with direct negotiations & contracts are due to announced end of month i.e using saddam law.PET have always worked closely with IOM (already registered) never got involved with KRG North Iraq or put a foot wrong.Hardened MoneyAM traders do not like PET&won't touch it with a bargepole.Furthermore do not understand those that do buy to hold 2-5 years to maximise gains post contracts through to production...Make no mistake PET has its fair share of traders T10-T25 which may cause volatility.Chart shows results of nasty double top which caught me by surprise.LikeTANs share price did run ahead of itself & got clobbered on being sold off. I am of the opinion that PET will get contracts in 2008 which will be reflected in share price.Going forward re-ratings on proven oil & gas reserves through to production.

I like current chart.Potentially bullish reversal in trend.Early days as it is, breakout is predicted.Wait for confirmed break above 130p if you wish.Bouncing of 25 day sma volume increasing, expectation of positive news.Initial target price back to 150p-160p.imho.Biased therefore DYOR.

p.s doubters feel free to hop on board anytime you like.

Trading tight range.Jury still out on direction short term.Interesting differences of stocks, investing & trading strategies.o/t TAN on monitor my view remains unchanged, don't like the look of it short term.DGO doing rather well!

lex1000 - 06 Jan 2008 02:08 - 589 of 1154

All eyes on the DOW which closed on 12,800. DOW Theory downtrend confirmation level. So IF it does close below, suggests a primary bear market is confirmed & all stocks will suffer. In my opinion one exception,PET! Anyone currently trading stocks on margin (risky) likely to get hit across number of stocks.Further forced selling automated stops & forced selling good stocks to cover bad calls.Much safer bought & paid for, investing money you can afford to tie up & lose.Times like this cash is king.

ptholden - 06 Jan 2008 13:38 - 590 of 1154

So why should PET be immune to your Bear market theory? (Well, actually someone else's theory because you rarely form your own opinion as evidenced by the amount of copying and pasting you indulge in).

Seems you have gone from a bullish breakout, with no TA evidence whatsoever to a tight trading range with the jury out! LoL

The jury is indeed out, could go either way, no reason to buy at this level.

cynic - 06 Jan 2008 16:21 - 591 of 1154

Peter .... my memory is that key number on Dow is 12650 ..... what do your charts say?

lex1000 - 06 Jan 2008 22:51 - 592 of 1154

ptholden, encouraged by progress being made in Iraq, positive weekend news & imo contracts not too far away. You do not include full quotes in your post but hey ho what's a "potentially bullish reversal...wait for confirmed break...& LOL" between friends.
At least we both agree on one stock TAN, fudge or no fudge! Take care & good luck next week.

cynic - 07 Jan 2008 08:12 - 593 of 1154

bastards the pair of you! ..... just cos i'm having an affair with CEO of TAN, there's no need to get jealous!!

lex1000 - 07 Jan 2008 08:30 - 594 of 1154

lex----------Well you certainly put the KOD on that, any remotely favourable comment I make about a co always comes back to bite me in the bum, so it's not a unique talent you have lex, ha!ha!

don't feel like the lone (loan?) ranger ..... there are few really bright spots today anywhere .... DGO was one and a surprising one VOG, but they are pretty thin on the ground

2517GEORGE - 07 Jan 2008 16:49 - 600 of 1154

Few indeed cynic, I notice one of your most loved co's finished blue, namely GOO and your second favourite outperformed the market by remaining unchanged. As for PET it's a waiting game, and the longer the wait for news the more loose holders depart.

halifax - 07 Jan 2008 16:51 - 601 of 1154

Does it matter if they depart as long as the news is positive.

2517GEORGE - 07 Jan 2008 17:16 - 602 of 1154

halifax-----I suppose the answer is yes and no, and very dependant on how positive or otherwise the news is, yes in as much that the sp will be starting from a lower point than it would had they not departed, and no because IF the news is very positive then the sp rise would make that fall insignificant. All imo of course.

the word is dependEnt ... a dependAnt is something completely different

2517GEORGE - 07 Jan 2008 21:18 - 604 of 1154

As someone who generally tries to make an effort into the spelling and grammar of my posts I find it rather churlish of you to find fault, may I suggest you concentrate on your own short comings, there is no such word as whingEing (VOG thread) it is whinging.
