DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Will Biome be a Santa this Xmas or will it be Scrooge, mind you I bet Mines and Co will be receiving Xmas bonuses.
Shame they are not paid by results, if they were they would be paying money back.

RNS
Change of adviser.
Why on earth do they need to pay out money to an adviser when I am sure they could receive plenty of free advice from us PI's.
Here are just a few examples.
1 Get rid of Mines without paying any reverence pay.
2 Start selling some of their products in more than minute quantities.
3 When statements are made via RNS's follow them up with updates instead of just letting details fade, hoping that shareholders forget with time.
4 Develop a product that potential customers actually like.
5 Start paying the board by targeted results or shares instead of remuneration.
6 Do something, anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Other 'polite' suggestions welcome.

Ah, the smell that was Christmas.
Biome's promises remind me of a Xmas when I was a youngster.
For years I had been promised a pony for Xmas but after several none pony producing years I was starting to doubt these promises, so I started to put pressure on my parents to make good their promise.
That Xmas I rushed downstairs excitedly opening the door to the old barn only to find that once again there was no pony, but this time at least there was something, a great big pile of horse manure.
As I stood there my parents came into the barn and seeing my crestfallen face explained that they had kept their promise but the horse must have run off via the broken door.
I believed what they said (I was about 7), since then I have grown up quite a bit and no longer believe such promises of a pony, or in Biome's case 'jam tomorrow'.
Mind you when I think back to that Xmas, the smell that came from the pony manure does remind me of Biome.
If you didn't laugh you'd cry!!!!!!

Trading update,
In line with expectations.
Revenues in the Bioplastics division subdued.
Main coffee capsule customers compromised by competitive challengers.
Customer trials for Biome's innovative high temperature material for food service applications continue to be encouraging (aren't they always).
OK the RF division is up £200,000 in revenue (not much profit there then).
Cash down by £400,000 in 3 months at £2.8m, so if those losses continue at the same rate it's a loss of £1.6 m over 12 months).
The summing up looks to be, revenue down, cash loss up, looks like another cash call coming up.
If anyone can see anything in this update that looks a company saver, they are looking through rose tinted glasses.

RNS, significant order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
So Biome are pleased to announce that its Bioplastics Division has recently received significant orders to the value of approximately £0.4m, for delivery in the first quarter of 2015.
This is following the six months to 30 June 2014 revenues in the Bioplastics Division were £1.1m but declined to £0.3m in the second half to 31 December 2014.
Lets look at those figures, revenue dropped by £.8m in the last 6 months of 2014, this latest news gives a significant order of £.4m, so taking one from the other leaves a decrease of £.4 m, giving the time period re 6 months against 3, the aggregate measure is level.
If Biome feel that an order of £.4m is significant they live in a dream world and I doubt this news will lift the sp.
I would like to know what the profit is on this order!

A significant order of "approximately £0.4", so that could be anything between 10p and £399,999.99 then based on past company estimates! :o)

Down, down and down she goes.
Now 90p bid, 97p offer.
Even allowing for the never ending delay effect of the coffee pod saga, the current sp has to be a signal that something bad is in the wind (been smelling something from Biome aka Stanelco for years).
I wonder what excuse the board will come out with next.
Apart from the name change this is the same horse as before, mind you if this company was a horse it would have been put down long ago.

I single trade in the last 7 trading days, a sell of 354 shares at the bottom price of 88p.
These shares are less in demand than a Greek 10 year Euro bond and far less secure!
Have Biome done a runner and no one knows about it.

The man who invented the coffee pod believes he made a terrible mistake! He fears that he has fuelled coffee addictions across the globe but not only that, he also worries that the capsules are destroying the planet because they cannot be recycled. Come on then BIOME, step up to the plate (or cup) and put John Sylvan out of his misery, tell him about your fabulous compostable coffee pods! :o)

Hi Kim,
Copied and pasted your last post giving you credit (but unfortunately no royalties) sure you wouldn't mind.
No wonder biome have not updated the markets re their coffee pods.

I don't mind at all Greek. What I do mind is the fact that BIOM appear to be doing nothing to promote themselves!

Agree, they appear to have gone from multiple hints of what was to come, but never does, to just keeping stum.
Perhaps even Biome have run out of flannel!

From todays Telegraph,
A company called Lavazza a Italian coffee giant has unveiled a 100% compostable coffee capsule made from thistles.
This capsule is the first of it's kind to be wholly biodegradable.
Update now definitely required re the Biome coffee capsule that was yet another product that was going to take the world by storm.
