New Biom Technologies (BIOM)

hangon - 16 Jul 2010 15:31

DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Hi Kim,

Copied and pasted your last post giving you credit (but unfortunately no royalties) sure you wouldn't mind.

No wonder biome have not updated the markets re their coffee pods.

regards Greek

kimoldfield - 07 Mar 2015 01:46 - 600 of 644

I don't mind at all Greek. What I do mind is the fact that BIOM appear to be doing nothing to promote themselves!

greekman - 09 Mar 2015 07:39 - 601 of 644

Agree, they appear to have gone from multiple hints of what was to come, but never does, to just keeping stum.

Perhaps even Biome have run out of flannel!

greekman - 09 Mar 2015 13:01 - 602 of 644

From todays Telegraph,

A company called Lavazza a Italian coffee giant has unveiled a 100% compostable coffee capsule made from thistles.

This capsule is the first of it's kind to be wholly biodegradable.

Update now definitely required re the Biome coffee capsule that was yet another product that was going to take the world by storm.

kimoldfield - 09 Mar 2015 17:50 - 603 of 644

Oh well, another prickly subject for BIOM to consider!

greekman - 13 Mar 2015 07:10 - 604 of 644

Looks like the board agree with the saying, 'Let sleeping dogs lie', real quite like the grave from Biome.

greekman - 16 Mar 2015 17:05 - 605 of 644

Biome have not sold 1 single share for almost 2 weeks.

hangon - 16 Mar 2015 17:38 - 606 of 644

greekman -9March - er, So What?
Biome has successfully invented a fully disposable investment. It's on the AIM market right now. . . . . Pile in....
. . . . Ho-Ho!

greekman - 17 Mar 2015 07:03 - 607 of 644

Lol, for a minute I thought you were being serious, but I agree the only bio-degradable thing Biome have made a success of is the companies sp.

greekman - 18 Mar 2015 17:22 - 608 of 644

Another day of sells, no buys for over 2 weeks now, looks like they can't give the shares away.

These shares should come with a warning, 'These Shares can Damage your wealth'.

kimoldfield - 25 Mar 2015 09:30 - 609 of 644

Revenues up 80%! If they carry on like this there is a danger that they may still be trading in 2/3 years time! :o)

Biome Technologies reports a significant improvement in its financial performance in the year to the end of December with group revenues up 80% to £3.57m and pre-exceptional operating losses fell to £1.32m (2013: loss £1.69m).

Biome Bioplastics' revenues increased to £1.45m (2013: £0.96m) as it continued its focus on sales of high performance, higher margin products. The Stanelco RF Technologies division moved back into profitability and more than doubled its revenues.

Trading to date in 2015 in, both divisions, is in line with the board's expectations.

Chief executive Paul Mines said: "The Group has delivered a much improved financial and operational performance in 2014 with strong revenue and margin growth. Our strategy of focusing on a select number of technically demanding product and application areas within Biome Bioplastics is progressing well and further technical development activity, directed at expanding the product range, is expected to generate substantial revenue growth from a broader customer base in future periods.

"Our RF Technologies division has had a strong year with growth seen across its diversified product range.

"The group's business is developing strongly and we are confident of the prospects for the coming year."

greekman - 27 Apr 2015 07:21 - 610 of 644

RNS.

Trading figures flat, but the great news is, 'The board remain confident and the future is encouraging', so that's all right then!

kimoldfield - 19 Jun 2015 09:47 - 611 of 644

What's this? A contract win? Yes it is!

Contract awarded to RF Division

Biome is pleased to announce that its Stanelco RF Technologies division has signed a £1.1m contract with a customer in Asia for the manufacture of a set of fibre optic furnaces for supply during 2015.

It was noted in the Group's trading update on 27 April 2015 that there were encouraging signs that the supply demand balance in the Asian fibre optic market was changing and that the division was quoting on a number of systems with potential customers who were considering new capacity.

This order is indicative of the improvement in market conditions and gives significant underpinning to the Board's expected outcome for this division in 2015.

Not even mildly?! :o)

greekman - 12 Aug 2015 08:13 - 614 of 644

Well over a year ago Biome stated that they were close to doing a deal regarding their coffee pods.

Since then we have heard nothing, similar situations have been the bane of Biome and previously Stanelco investors for years.

Smell the coffee, anyone smell even a whiff (of coffee that is).

greekman - 04 Sep 2015 17:31 - 615 of 644

Interim results.

Improved margins to 39% (H1 2014: 35%)

Increased margins mean nothing if things don't sell!

New product line within Biome Bioplastics has reached the commercialisation stage and is expected to deliver revenue in H2 2015.

Didn't they say similar re expected revenue in 2014!

Encouraging order flow received.

Where!!!!!Proof would be nice via an RNS re an order!

The Board believes that the Group remains on target.

Again didn't they say similar in 2014 and for many years before that!

Single-serve coffee market to levels similar to those in the first half of 2014.

Again where are the orders, or have I missed them!.

The problem with Biome is that it is so hard to believe all the promises after being strung along for so many years.

Whilst I am sure there are many out there who feel I am continually knocking the company, I assure them that should Biome show me just one clear sign that they are finally pushing the fringes of a profit that looks sustainable, I will acknowledge so!

If anyone can show me that they have, please do so!

In the mean time the sp just drops and drops!

greekman - 05 Oct 2015 16:32 - 616 of 644

Fantastic day for Biome, all todays trades are buys (sarcasm sometimes beats humour).

A single trade that cost less than what's in the companies tea fund, and that not counting the biscuits!

My son bought some Kopi luwak yesterday, it is the most expensive coffee in the world.

It is produced from coffee beans which have been digested by a certain Indonesian cat-like animal called the palm civet or also civet cat.

So its something that has been passed as poo and is expensive, I will say no more!
