Andy... to answer ur question. The fall is all to do with results coming out from Premier Oil which shows that Chinguetti oil is muc much less than initially estimated. However Premier SP did hold up and increased yesterday as it also received interest from a Oil Major as a potential takeover target!

I was addicted to SEY for a long while and had to sell in Feb. But I am back in yesterday and this will be for the long term

jameel006,

Good to see you back!

I agree, I saw the ROC RNS, but I saw others mention Premier. whilst there's no denting this is disappointing, the reserves have not yet been downgraded, and by SEY's own admission, they are receiving considerably more for their oil than was budgeted for, so there is some offset to the lower production.

Nice to see a little blue today, and hopefully the market will see the potential value here.

Results are due out in mid Septemeber, so there is a chance they will release better then expected figures, or possibly some news.

share trader, I am back and have suffered badly through tyhe summer! Just when I started to accumulate my equity investments I got stung in the summer correction!!!!

Anyways back in SEY only in a small way! Took adv. of the dip two days ago but I guess its not provde a good thing. Nevertheless results day in Sep will be the key event!

Nice to see ur around and well!

Hardman results out, with references to the Chinguetti problems, nothing new to SEY holders though.

ANDY
yes, there is something for SEY holders and that is the sp drops creating excellent opportunity to top up cheap. 18p or 16p will be excellent though. those who cry now will be comforted later if only they stay put. not easy to stay put sometimes.

best luck

I have no SEY, & not doing to well to day with my other two big holds ox, aen, so am looking at goo or aau, but have no knowledge of Sey till your mention of it on the goo thread.

brianrog - 31 Aug 2006 09:14 - 6210 of 7811

well now the Big Boys really are about!

StarFrog - 31 Aug 2006 09:18 - 6211 of 7811

Too right, brian.

Couldn't believe it this morning when I saw a 6 million and a 6.5 milliion shares trade go through on Squawk Box. Had to hurry in to work to check whether it was a Buy or Sell. Thankfully both were Buys. Somebody's accummulating - and at these prices I can see why.

georgetrio - 31 Aug 2006 09:24 - 6212 of 7811

They know, they will never get it at this price again. smart investors. Too much value here, even though more should be coming.

georgetrio - 31 Aug 2006 10:54 - 6213 of 7811

Tell me a company that you underestimated that becomes a serious player
Tell me a company that stands and rises against all odds
Tell me a business with a hidden values that becomes so big
Tell me something you overlooked that now takes most of your attention.
Well, i think answers may vary from one to another.
Some may say ASHTEAD, or CAIRN, or Golden Prospect, or Sterling Energy, or GOLD OIL. Now how would you feel if you recognise these hidden fortune at early stage? and what would you have done?
Please, never regret, as regret is the effort to undo something in the past on the time scale. It is a trap.
Now why all this about?
DO you see values in STERLING ENERGY? or this non-popular FAO, or this smart builder PVR, or this solid GOO OR the ambitious BLR? We shall see. The surpises will come from SEY, GOO and indeed FAO.

austing2253 - 31 Aug 2006 11:57 - 6214 of 7811

Trades still looking good. 15 m up - long may it last!

brianrog - 31 Aug 2006 12:04 - 6215 of 7811

more like 37 mill up, they wouldn't be selling at 20p to the Big Boys!

Andy - 31 Aug 2006 13:12 - 6216 of 7811

austing2253, brianrog,

Massive volume traded today so far!

Up 0.5p, but the MMs will probably play around with that later!

seawallwalker - 31 Aug 2006 14:17 - 6217 of 7811

Look increasingly like Amvescap are making a final move on the Company.

And why not at these prices

proptrade - 31 Aug 2006 14:29 - 6218 of 7811

wow...VOLUME

seawallwalker - 31 Aug 2006 14:31 - 6219 of 7811

Master RSI says stock over hang being cleared prop, looks too big for that.

StarFrog - 31 Aug 2006 14:33 - 6220 of 7811

72.5 million trades so far - I agree sww, too big for a stock over hang.

optomistic - 31 Aug 2006 14:36 - 6221 of 7811

Been bots running for days, 10,15,20,25k's apart from all the rest

proptrade - 31 Aug 2006 14:37 - 6222 of 7811

WAY too big....sorry i have been playing in PANR and only have a scrap of these left, whats up?

seawallwalker - 31 Aug 2006 14:38 - 6223 of 7811

Funny thing is that the bid ask stayed at 20 - 20.5p wmore or less, amd all the time this was happening then, whe a few retail players came it, the MM's marked it up.

Are they trying to discourage buyers I wonder?
