Darradev - 20 Feb 2008 10:01 - 635 of 1154

Hi 2517, some incoming 'Neg' News for you.

Turkey is considering ground operations against PKK rebels in Kurdistan,
Karbala is likely to be put under a massive security clampdown at the end of a forthcoming holiday period.
US helicopter shoots some of their 'friendly' supporters south of Baghdad

but, on the 'Pos' News side...

Iraq airways may buy 44 new and used planes from US Boeing.

Hope it assists. :-)

Darradev------cheers, sorry to hear about the yanks and the 'friendly' fire though.

I think it was a bit of a 'misunderstanding' with a local mob. 3 dead, 100 plus spat the dummy in protest for a few days and then came back to support the cause.

2517GEORGE - 20 Feb 2008 12:50 - 638 of 1154

Well (sorry about that) something is stirring.

cynic - 20 Feb 2008 12:54 - 639 of 1154

certainly a very good performance when many other oilies are down, CNE being an honourable exception

2517GEORGE - 20 Feb 2008 12:58 - 640 of 1154

RNS out looking good.

moneyplus - 20 Feb 2008 13:02 - 641 of 1154

looking brilliant!! Iraqi gov approval---first mover advantage--looks as though the contracts signed in 2002 will now be honoured. check out the excitement on the other side--news has not yet spread to the wider market! expect a whoosh then!! sorry-I'm excited as this is my only good performer today.

halifax - 20 Feb 2008 13:16 - 642 of 1154

Yes Horgan interview on Reuters expecting confirmation of PET's concession in Western desert soon.

2517GEORGE - 20 Feb 2008 13:16 - 643 of 1154

Don't forget block 6, this is potentially huge. Lex1000, all the reasons you bought and posted for look more likely now to come to fruition, think about getting back in.

2517GEORGE - 20 Feb 2008 13:20 - 644 of 1154

halifax, same time posting re block 6, I hope it's a case of 'Great minds' and not 'All fools' etc.

2517GEORGE - 20 Feb 2008 14:50 - 645 of 1154

Such a small spread atm.

cynic - 20 Feb 2008 14:51 - 646 of 1154

what a fantastic performance .... am delighted that my comment yesterday seems to have been proven wrong

2517GEORGE - 20 Feb 2008 14:56 - 647 of 1154

cynic----your posts 628 & 632 seem to be the catalyst for this reaction, not the rns ha!ha!

halifax - 20 Feb 2008 15:25 - 648 of 1154

Looks likely this one will finally come good but which partners will they select to advance block 6?

2517GEORGE - 20 Feb 2008 15:35 - 649 of 1154

I don't really know but I would think ITOCHU has to be favourite.

halifax - 20 Feb 2008 15:40 - 650 of 1154

Dont know Itochu do they have the expertise to develop a large oilfield?

cynic - 20 Feb 2008 15:59 - 651 of 1154

at least 632 offered some hope!

2517GEORGE - 20 Feb 2008 16:12 - 652 of 1154

halifax check out Itochu website http://www.itochu.co.jp/main/index_e.html
They launched upstream activities in 1970 they're a large Jap. conglomerate. They are also one of the largest traders of crude oil in the far east.

cynic----If it had not been for that hope the sp may have got to 130p, more negativity required from you please.
