rarely find much point in showing charts stretching back more than 3/6 months or occasionally 1 year, as for me at least, it's usually a trend I am looking for ...... not remotely clever or informed enough to get into chart esoterics

steveo - 06 Oct 2006 15:34 - 6416 of 7811

could this be the start of an upward trend, winter coming, crude production limited by opec further cuts in the offing?, will price begin to rise again. Drilling program updates due over next 3-4 months? Interesting time ahead, Do a chart for one month next time cynic :-)

StarFrog - 06 Oct 2006 15:36 - 6417 of 7811

Do a chart for next month. LOL

cynic - 06 Oct 2006 15:46 - 6418 of 7811

perhaps i'll construct one, logging in as Sceptic or even Septic Sam .... lol!

I am not convinced that this sort of minnow is especially affected by crude prices .... It is the news or even lack of it that will propel sp

StarFrog - 06 Oct 2006 17:22 - 6419 of 7811

Interesting trade just went through. 19p on the bid yet 18p on the offer. Go figure!

This comment appeared in The Business a few days ago;

Of the Aim-listed companies in Africa, Sterling, Equator Petroleum, and Bowleven are targets.

Stockbroker Hargreave Hale, which advises a group of Sterlings shareholders, has been touting the company to potential buyers, as has Bowlevens broker Noble. The aggressive US funds which predominate in Equators shareholder base are known to be looking for a quick exit. Roc Oil could also see itself being acquired.

We may be closer to a takeover scenario than we think!

In response to all those DE RAMPERS on this board who say that there will be no more Ching wells this year because of a lack of equipment, and that there may never be any remedial wells at Ching, and in fact say any old rubbish to try and force the price down. Here in the real world is a snippet from ROC today which shows that the Atwood Hunter will be back on the Ching site as planed in the near future.
With OPEC cutting oil production to support an oil price of $60-65 a barrel, lets see what an increasing production from Ching at a higher oil price does for the ever increasing Sterling cash pile.

"On completion of Aigrette-1 the Atwood Hunter will return to drill the remaining
wells in the Woodside-operated programme: Kibaro-1 exploration well in PSC Area
A and Chinguetti-18 development well".

fido

Many thanks, and spot on. those who know SEY will not sell but buy more and i am one of those.

seawallwalker - 09 Oct 2006 11:50 - 6431 of 7811

fido - dont cast aspersions on peoples characters like that.

I have talked about lack of equipment because that is what UBS said in a recent Broker note concerning Hardman, it's not fiction, and I dont want a cheaper sp because I dont intend to buy, well not yet anyway, maybe before Madagascar gets drilled and I would not care if the sp was a quid.

"You want the truth?"

"Yes"

"You want the truth? You cant handle the truth!"

Regardless of your hysterics, I think Sterling is a good middle to long term investment, I just dont want to be part at the moment as the boredom killed me off.

Just when this board was all sweetness and light.

georgetrio - 09 Oct 2006 11:55 - 6432 of 7811

Please do not let the bad weather affect you, i noticed during this period a lot investors do get angry quickly including myself. soon there will be another summer. SWEET AND SOUR enjoy both

seawallwalker - 09 Oct 2006 12:06 - 6433 of 7811

Looks like fido has learned to copy and paste, same post everywhere.

I'm taking the blame, but not for his discomfort.

georgetrio - 09 Oct 2006 12:15 - 6434 of 7811

seawall
the market in general is boring for normal investor during this season but this is the best time to short or select some excellent little fishes for the next harvest.
