fido,
I am a long term holder of SEY, and I welcome a contrarian viewpoint, provided it is based on fact, and not just made up rubbish to support a negative view.
FWIW I value SWW's posts, even if I don't agree with all of them, as they give an alternate viewpoint, and a reason to think, and maybe look at something from a different angle, which is not a bad thing IMO.
We have a good thread here, and there are no rampers nor derampers IMO, and Moneyam lacks the hits of ADVFN, so hardly worth even trying to ramp/deramp here.

StarFrog.
A good poster seeks to inform, whether it be good or bad. Even bad news is benificial if investers are more informed as a result.
A DE RAMPER has no such concerns for other investors and will slag off even excellent company news or positive poster.
I have known those who slag a company off big time when they are short only to praise them to the hilt a few days later when they are long, and again slag them off when they are short again.
Ask yourself who actually benifits from all the rubbish they spout. Certainly not the long term investor.
DE RAMPERS seek to turn the stockmarket into a casino for their own gain. If they succeed then everyone will suffer in the end. Pensions are built on solid equity foundations and DE RAMPERS seek to destabalise that.

Stockdog,
When I soaked my "sixer" in vinegar it didn't half sting!
Starfrog,
"you are on my mental list of reliable posters."
Good job you arranged the words in the right order there!

Is it good to be on a "mental" list?

fido - I agree with yout first comment but have to add that pensions are also built on short positions. If a professional investor cannot get a return for their client regardless of the methodology employed then (s)he can not be considered that good at the job. I know a lot of the readers out there aren't going to like that comment, but I'm afraid that is the way of the world.
If you are long on a stock and are comfortable with its fundamentals then why be so worried by negative posts. The majority of us can detect a blatant lie from the truth, and when not sure, have the resources available to check the facts.
IMO blatant "de-ramping" has insignificant or no affect on the sp of a stock, it only serves to wind up those who are not so assured about their own investment strategies and possibily puts off others from investing in a particular stock (but then of course, they should be doing their own research).
And just to answer your final questions. As a long term investor I have no qualms with derampers and the "rubbish they spout". As I have said, IMO this has no effect on my investment whatsoever. The sp of companies like SEY is based on prevailing market conditions.
DE RAMPERS seek to turn the stockmarket into a casino for their own gain. Which of course could include a fund manager in one of your pension schemes. So you would ultimately gain.

Andy et al, your words fall on deaf ears.

fydo - Its funny that there is only one person that has taken offence at what I have said. Isn`t it also coincidence that whenever their name appears, even before reading the post you know its going to be a vile of negativity.
If the cap fits then wear it.
DE RAMPER!!!
Now tell me he ain't aiming at me?
I have never deramped in my life.
fido - Now eff off back to advfn where you seem much more at home. Keep posting the crap over there, it shows you have not much idea what you are on about.
I am not filtering you as I like a good laugh.

Seawallwalker,
I have made my point and I do not intend to waste any more time responding to your perverted rubbish.
As far as I am concerned you are a DE RAMPER and not a very good one at that.

If you are not a DE RAMPER then prove it.
As reported above we have TW coming out with yet another highly positive piece on Sterling. Lets see you recognise that and actually say something positive instead of trashing every positive bit of news like you normally do.

The difference is I will not retract anything including insults.

fido - I will ask you to prove your comments first.
Meantime I have other things to do in the kitchen so I cant follow every post.
Chicken cassarole today!
Now then, I do not have a spread bet account, I do not have a CFD account, I buy fully paid up shares, and also deal in a nominee account.
If you can work out how I can short with only those accounts then go ahead.
Call me a liar and do it in writing here and now.
You can find my name on the Sterling Company register if you look and I received a copy of the interims last week from Sterling on Thursday.
Fully paid up holders can verfiy that here.
If you had emailed through MAM I would have given you the relevant information if I did not think you were mad......
I had sold prior to Sterling sending out the copy, and put the cash into blue chips for the divi, but because of the recent rise in the market I made the divi percentage before the divi, ex div date and then some.
That's called trading.
I think I am going to ignore you now because you are a twit who does not deserve to be answered any more.
You obviously have escaped from, or been allowed home leave from a lunatic asylum, and I hope that catch you before you do any real damage.
Or so much for Care in the Community.

Very positive comments about sterling energy on this show today. It can be found at
http://www.stockmarket-channel.tv... do not know what to make of the show (or advert!). Would like comments about this... seems ok if you have some time to kill though. It made the following comments about SEY:
1. excellant managemant
2. makes money (alot don't)
3. excellant ongoing exploration projects

Fido,
I received the interims through the post last week too, I would suggest only a paid up holder, (non nominee) would know when the interims were posted!
