I issed the last bit of trading, but assume there was no logic behind the fall in VOG - e.g. no RNS that I missed or similar

lizard - 24 May 2006 16:51 - 650 of 2511

i would be more concerned if vog were falling in a rising mkt, as it is not i'm not that bothered medium term.

cynic - 24 May 2006 16:55 - 651 of 2511

as i mentioned elsewhere, trading this week was going to be peculiar anyway as B/H tomorrow and de facto on Friday and B/H UK and US on Monday

scotinvestor - 24 May 2006 17:03 - 652 of 2511

still heading down to 150p, maybe even 130p

Saintserf - 24 May 2006 17:32 - 653 of 2511

I'm relieved by what you say strawbs about being 100% cash. sold out shares on monday big falllers only to see them rise tons yesterday, felt a right pilchard. But I can't help wondering regardless of high oil price whether oil shares will still fall.

Strawbs - 24 May 2006 18:00 - 654 of 2511

But presumably you feel better today having watched them drop again? I have the same 'pangs' of should I buy back when I see them rally..... So far staying out has proved to be the sensible option though. I sometimes wonder if it's almost a drug....pressing the buy/sell button. That's probably why most people end up giving all their profits back. Hard to break the addiction.

Strawbs.

hlyeo98 - 25 May 2006 08:34 - 655 of 2511

I agree...strawbs...pressing the button gives a buzz to our lives...like an patient on a PCAS pump.

lanayel - 25 May 2006 14:25 - 656 of 2511

Couldn't resist these any longer and bought at 171p.
I reckon the majority of spread betters and/or short sellers are out of the way now.
Onwards and upwards I say !!!!

Calling all shorters .........

GET OUT QUICK !!!!

You're gonna be slaughtered.

Have a good weekend

ellio - 26 May 2006 12:27 - 658 of 2511

Be brave, well done, nice turnaround, they have a bloody lot of gas these guys!!!!

queen - 26 May 2006 15:42 - 659 of 2511

anyone know when new reports are expected on other wells? SP is yo-yoing too much lately, looking forward to a bit of news that could stabilise it. I'm not aware of any change in the fundamentals which would have resullted in a drop from 240p to 160?? I went in at 200p

lanayel - 26 May 2006 16:05 - 660 of 2511

Queen,
absolutely no change in fundamentals.
Indeed the last announcement was excellent.
The general market shakeout has hit VOG as much as many other oil and gas companies.
Barring another severe market correction like last week the SP should comfortably exceed 200p next week.
The first real resistance will be around 220-225p.

MENTIONED IN TODAYS INDEPENDENT................................There was also good support for Victoria Oil & Gas, 19.5p better at 189.5p, as traders waited for news on preliminary well testing at Well 106. A statement on 15 May indicated that results would be announced before the end of May, and with only days left, investors backed the stock to give a positive drilling update at the start of next week.

skyhigh - 27 May 2006 12:21 - 662 of 2511

Thanks DT... let's hope it's all very good news on Tues/Wed and that the SP rockets back up and pass the 2.60p high !

queen - 27 May 2006 19:24 - 663 of 2511

looking good guys, was mentioned last week in the Times as a smaller stock to watch as well

cynic - 27 May 2006 20:43 - 664 of 2511

The fact that VOG was mentioned in the Times is les relevant that whether or not too much good news is already factored into the price ..... IMO, a lot of froth has now been blown away, so the price should react as it should ...... A couple of test well results are due within the next few days, so fingers crossed.

Peter123 - 27 May 2006 22:20 - 665 of 2511

Lets hope it is good news.. Please

lanayel - 30 May 2006 08:37 - 666 of 2511

The squeeze on the bears continues

;o)

cynic - 30 May 2006 17:07 - 667 of 2511

For no real logical reason othet than that I bought them both about the same time, I tend to lump VOG and EME together ...... Whereas under margin(?) pressure late today EME slipped away to 87.5 at close (cut some of position earlier in the day), VOG stayed solid all day with little move in either direction (topped up this morning) ...... If I, and many other "friends" here are lucky, VOG's imminent announcements will be at least as good as hoped with a nice fillip to sp.

well test results from Well 106 and Well 104-Bis at its West Medvezhye gas and
