The Oxus Group was established in 1996 and quoted on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in London in 2001.

Oxus Gold plc is a UK based international mining group with gold mining interests in Central Asia. Oxus is the joint owner (50/50) with the government of Uzbekistan of Amantaytau Goldfields (AGF) which is developing several mining operations in the Tien Shan gold belt near Zarafshan.

The first mine was constructed and commissioned by Oxus in January 2004 on time and within budget and commercial production began the following month. AGF has since produced more than 270,000 ounces of gold to the end of September 2005 and is now producing at the planned rate of 151,000 onces per annum.

Noticed that RAB increased their holding a couple of weeks ago and the sp seems to tick up minutely each day since. Not holding my breath but its worth watching.

Great news about the litigation funding lets hope it will not be to long and drawn out but knowing the eastern bloc ????

..and it's possible the final ruling will go against OXS. A long, long way to go!

Oxus Gold has put in place funding arrangements to cover its legal dispute with the Government in Uzbekistan.

It has entered into a litigation funding agreement with a subsidiary of the Calunius Litigation Risk Fund. Under the terms of the litigation funding agreement, Calunius has agreed to pay Oxus's legal costs in relation to the international arbitration proceedings against Uzbekistan on a non-recourse basis.

Oxus will continue to have complete control over the conduct of the international arbitration proceedings, insofar as the proceedings relate to the company's claims, and continues to have the right to settle with the defendant, discontinue proceedings, pursue the proceedings to trial and take any action Oxus considers appropriate to enforce judgement.

It has agreed to pay Calnius a material portion of any final settlement of the arbitration claim against Uzbekistan. The fee shall only become payable upon a final settlement of the arbitration claim and its value is dependent upon a number of variables including the value of any settlement and the length of time taken to reach a settlement.

The agreement also provides that the fee will not exceed the amount of the aggregate proceeds of the litigation under any circumstances

Wish I'd spotted this earlier but there could be a dramatic change of fortune for this company....not a bad deal....much more to come for the sp i would think...it's a gamble though....but this is looking a hell of a lot better....

Yep RAB up their holding about three weeks ago which I thought was strange. I posted on 27th Feb that it had been creeping up but this jump did the coffers good.

They might just pull this off.....no win, no fee sort of thing.....Uzbekistan have a damn cheek......this company deserves better....

Long way to go with more twists than a can of spagetti. But as I had written them off will watch with interest.

It'll be volatile that's for sure but news will be coming and perhaps a buck or two can be made on an upsurge....

Up a bit now....I would have thought that prior to the case being heard : we would see a doubling of the sp, if not more....
