doubling up next week on a t25 with a view to holding if in the money?.

cynic - 10 Jun 2006 19:07 - 724 of 2511

If that is meant to be a Q, then no I shall not be buying further as i have enough ..... However, provided the markets do not collapse again following Dow's fall on Friday through 10940, then you could take more risky gambles for there should indeed be an announcement shortly, if not within a day or two.

candolim - 11 Jun 2006 14:55 - 725 of 2511

I believe there is a great future in vog. I must admit |I am disappointed with the delay of the announcement which should be out over the next day or so. Provided the results from the tests are good. Then I would expect there to be a good increase in the share price. So I think we all have to be patient at the moment.

I have always felt quite comfortable holding 40,000 shares in this company, even though the have dropped quite a lot over the past few weeks, I feel sure we should have some luck soon in the near future. Good luck from Janet in Nottingham.

WOODIE - 12 Jun 2006 09:58 - 726 of 2511

another down day, looks weak on the charts the way it went straight through support at 1.50 needs a bounce to repair damage already done.

queen - 12 Jun 2006 09:59 - 727 of 2511

I can fully understand the point about SP not doing much because of lack of news etc, but I dont see how that justifies such a big drop...down 7% already today??

Strawbs - 12 Jun 2006 10:04 - 728 of 2511

I suspect it's activity on the order book pushing the price down again. I would continue to avoid for now. Someone clearly wants to sell and that will hold the price down for the time being. Probably worth holding if you are waiting for the latest update, but certainly not worth buying until some stability returns. I suspect the price will get a lift with a good RNS, but in the current bear trend I doubt that the rise will be sustained or long lived. IMO.

SP this morning is certainly a bit scary and hairy (unlike me!) but fall seems to be on very small volume indeed, though would have been much happier to see sp charging ahead on same.

Strawbs - 12 Jun 2006 10:19 - 730 of 2511

Cynic,

Off topic: Have read your book recommendation of a few weeks back (Mark Shipman). Interesting read, and I guess a little "Slater'ish" in terms of crowd following principles. Thanks for the recommendation. Pretty good read.

cynic - 12 Jun 2006 10:50 - 731 of 2511

Interesting isn't it ...... I don't agree with him 100%, though he hedges his bets so to speak by taking up to a 10 year view! ..... However, he is certainly right to say that dealing in the commodities themselves, one avoids the vagaries of Shar X being a market fave or otherwise, for either good reason or bad.

Tried to log into his site a few weeks back, but could not get the required "acknowldegment", but will try again.

Strawbs - 12 Jun 2006 10:59 - 732 of 2511

I'd agree, in that I don't agree with 100% of what he says, but certainly the first part of the book is very much in line with my own stratergies of identifying early trends, backing them, and most importantly sticking to an exit plan. Not sure if I'll become a commodities buyer just yet, but interesting all the same.

lizard - 12 Jun 2006 11:09 - 733 of 2511

we need a 65% rally to get it back to previous highs !- what a battering?.

skyhigh - 12 Jun 2006 11:11 - 734 of 2511

yeh.. it's beyond a joke! very dispiriting!

cynic - 12 Jun 2006 11:31 - 735 of 2511

I hate the colour of blood too, but get a small amount of comfort that the fall is not on any great volume ...... currently about 800k against a daily average of 2.25m

skyhigh - 12 Jun 2006 11:40 - 736 of 2511

it's getting absolutely bad. just keeps on falling... when will it reach the bottom ?

queen - 12 Jun 2006 11:47 - 737 of 2511

that's what I mean, it would take some pretty significant news to push the SP up 12%, so I'm wondering what it could be that's pushing it down 12% ??!!

skyhigh - 12 Jun 2006 11:53 - 738 of 2511

somebodys' having a laff at our expense!... what a scam this is turning out to be!

Strawbs - 12 Jun 2006 11:53 - 739 of 2511

It's only speculation, but what I think is happening in the market is this:

Profitable positions are being liquidated to cover losses elsewhere.
This is pushing the price down and forcing other leveraged buyers to liquidate positions.
This is forcing stock to be sold at any price.
This pushes the price down further and creates downward momentum (a vicous cycle).

If I'm right, other recent high flyers will start to get hit as the ripples spread out.

cynic - 12 Jun 2006 12:00 - 740 of 2511

For what it is worth, there seems to be neither news nor even rumour in the market to have precipitated this frightening fall ...... Hope Strawbs is right and that the RNS, due in 1-2 weeks will do more than settle nerves

queen - 12 Jun 2006 12:04 - 741 of 2511

Just spoke to someone who told me that the big fall MAY be due to rumours that they've hit a dry well...any thoughts?

Strawbs - 12 Jun 2006 12:06 - 742 of 2511

To be precise. I suspect a positive RNS will settle, and perhaps improve the price a little, but I would avoid buying until the new price trend is sustained. A rise in price may not last, especially if there's further negative inflation news (several possible indicators this week, especially US CPI on Wednesday). Individual holders will have to decide on their own stratergy as far as holding or selling into strength is concerned.
