Here are a few of my thoughts, hope that they are of help/interest.
Back towards the end of July 2007 PET had a mid price of 59p & it looked as though the Iraqi Parliament were about to disband for a one month recess.
Things did not look great for PET's SP in the short term.
Then out of the blue a German Tipster mag put a 14e (9.48p) SP target on PET & we were off.
This was followed by a very bullish AGM statement a few days ago from PET. Combined with a London repeat.
A number of PET BB contributors attended & gave excellent reports back.
These last few days reports from Iraq sugges that the HCL is very likely to pass in the near future (anything from 1-6 weeks). Sooner is IMO more likely.
-------------
So thats he past....What about the future.....
Well I see the HCL passing in September 2007, when is fairly irrelevant...
I expect the SP to rise as PIs feel the event is getting closer.
When the HCL passes (lets assume it does)....I'd expect there to be a dramatic rush for PET shares as rumours & facts suggest that PET is about to win (a) contract(s).
Block 6 & an upgrade on S&L are expected.
If this transpires I expect the SP to rise further.....
Then there is HALFAYA.....!!!!!
We are not sure about this one are we. It will be stunning if we get it.
Telephone numbers SP wise Mr Teeling said......maybe as a joke, maybe not, the telephone numbers that is.
I feel the PET management think they are in with a very good chance of getting it.....& it is on the Website....
So fingers crossed on that one.
-------------
I don't like putting any SP figures on it but I intend to keep all my PET holdings till our Halfaya fate is known one way or another & then review.

Hi Elmfield....I think long term growth it is for me for my bought & paid for.
A lot of my PET was purchased between 60p & 95p...
If I were to sell this year I'd lose 40% of my profit which is xxx,xxx-xxp to the taxman.
I know CGT is a bad reason not to sell normally but in PETs case there are bonuses for a longer hold.
Hatto - 29 Aug'07 - 23:39 - 95883 of 95891
Hi tisi....I feel PET is a stronger play than SEY...SEY's SP has rather collapsed of late...not the greatest of signs.
DCD - 29 Aug'07 - 23:39 - 95884 of 95891
1.85p would be nice for a start, that would pay my boys school fees for the next five years.
tisi. I wish you well, are you still in AHT.

Up a penny until 9.00am, then steady rise to 1.65 by close. onwards and upwards.
-------
I think you'll find our SP rise will continue to be dramatic.....
I don't expect PET to be dealing in 1p's at the moment.

Someone mentioned earlier that they thought that the PET BB contributors held 8 million PET shares.
Personally I feel that figure is around 20 million, if lurkers are included.
PET has only 69 million shares in issue, if there is a rush for PET shares then the SP rise will be very dramatic.

Hatto re the BB collective holding: My estimations are nearer your figure of 20m similarly. I think wide knowledge of this info would hugely tighten confidence here. I go as far as to say SP enhancing as any readers will be in no doubt as to who the long termers here are due to their daily presence, in brief one could reasonably acurately estimate the loose shares in the mart. Would love to know that figure.

Obviously I know how many shares various holders have......I think my figure is close.
Not that many shares in free float.
The MMs may have difficulties in the future as I said earlier, if there is positive news.
kingdiddy - 30 Aug'07 - 00:48 - 95899
Hatto so considering Directors and insti's hold 53% ( 36,570,000) and your informed estimates of 20m from the LT's, were looking at only 12.43m share in free float. That is phenomenal. Going further last week nigh on saw that figure turnover once in the market.

Morning all. Can't sleep. Kingdiddy. There will always be sellers about as the SP heads north, as long as we have a few more buyers at the same time to give us a ballance. Better to see 800k buys and 600k sells each day, puts a more sold footing under the SP.

D Express (share whisper) this a.m.
Iraq focused oil explorer PET yesterday hit a 147.5p high, up 13.5p, as retail punters piled in on speculation that major industry players were considering tapping in to Iraq's vast black gold potential. Traders reckon PET could announce contract news during the next month.
Enjoy

Guys, take it from me PET is a non brainer. There are risks, risks which are diminishing by the day. PET taken a breather. Retail investors are buying. These are preferable rates. Mark my words buy orders are being filled before the next rise.
Market cap increasing will bring in more buyers,Funds Institutional.......When HCL debated and approved by Iraqi Parliament will bring in more buyers.............When PET signs contracts will bring in more buyers..........When Oil in the ground reserves are proven at 'x' million and possibly 'x' billion PET further re-rated and will bring in more buyers.........When further contracts won the same...........When in a few years PET becomes Independant Iraq Oil producer with black stuff coming above ground for selling further re-ratings and will attract even more buyers.
Rare circumstances in Iraq, unique position PET set to benefit and deliver significant investor value.
Hang on until sp has risen much higher potentially double, double and double again.Ridiculously cheap but does require approved HCL in first instance followed by contracts awarded to PET.Watch this minnow company grow into a major company in Iraq.PET ready and waiting and CAN start work immediately with advantage in years over most majors can and currently are working in Iraq, with Iraq company,Iraq Directors,Iraq workers, well in IMO and militia Souther Iraq and Iran.
IF you want to maximise profits,HOLD,HOLD and HOLD. PET is getting noticed, buying in earnest has already started.69m/74m shares in issue.Estimated that free float approximately 12-13 million. PET is worth more supply and demand, positive newsflow and ongoing re-ratings will drive sp higher and higher.
Keep the faith.Multi-bagger you watch and you see.aimvho.DYOR.

Top Ten Retail Investor Buys & Sells for week ending 31 August 2007
31 August 2007
Angus Rigby, Chief Executive Officer, TD Waterhouse, commented: Investor interest has been high in resource stocks this week, with a number of TD Waterhouse customers taking the opportunity to increase exposure to the oil and gas sector by buying heavily into Petrel Resources. Share price in the Company is hitting annual highs of 148.50p, up over 219 per cent this year on last.
However, some of our other customers took this opportunity to take profits with Meridian Petroleum and Max Petroleum reaching number six and eight respectively on our sells list. Share price in Meridian which is due to announce its interim results next Thursday is up over 5 per cent on last week, possibly boosted by reports that commercial sales at its Orion 36 well in Michigan; USA are exceeding initial expectations. Meanwhile, Max Petroleums share price continues to slump further from last week, down over 10 per cent, a slide of almost 50 per cent month on month.
Elsewhere on the markets, investors sold off stock in solar cell producer Renesola, the Company had recently warned that its financial target for the year could be adversely impacted by a cut in its 2007 production outlook. Profits were surging early this year but August sees share prices down by almost 50 per cent on July, slipping 7 per cent this week. Despite this fall, share growth in the Company is still up by over 70 per cent on the year after stellar gains from production capacity expansion and a number of sales contracts wins.
