I shall vote against the company being taken over.....that's if I have a vote....long live the small shareholder...to the castle at once ....peasants et all...long live the revolution !.....I'm not a dictator....nein...nein...euhhh went a bit off track there...

required field - 18 Nov 2009 17:44 - 782 of 903

Up at the end of the day....so we shall see what happens next ....

cynic - 18 Nov 2009 17:58 - 783 of 903

RF - don't get greedy ...... if sp moves up smartly to say 435/440, the grab the profit and wait .... at 440/445 it's even worth shorting, as the downside is then effectively only 10p especially if you pt in a limit (down, obviously), and despite the squawking, the odds of the deal not going through are 455 at pretty slim.

ahoj - 19 Nov 2009 08:18 - 784 of 903

cynic, it clearly worth more than 6. the problem is that none has confidence to get approvals by shareholders to buy this.

cynic - 19 Nov 2009 08:45 - 785 of 903

worth is only what someone will pay .... if the bid is blocked, then MAYBE, some time after the initial slump, you will see sp higher than the 455 bid ..... however, the odds of the bid being blocked are anorexically slim

required field - 19 Nov 2009 08:47 - 786 of 903

In that case it's still just about at the right price to buy and wait for 455p....

cynic - 19 Nov 2009 08:55 - 787 of 903

it's a valid view, though i still hold with my post 783, and with sp now back to 422 i don't think i'ld be too eager to jump in ..... you had been a crafty chappy such as yourself and had bought at 410'ish, then i'ld certainly continue to hold at this juncture

required field - 19 Nov 2009 08:59 - 788 of 903

413p.

cynic - 01 Dec 2009 15:15 - 789 of 903

with ENOC being owned by dubai gov't, this whole t/o is assuredly now thrown into doubt ...... worth watching it all unfold or even unravel, but though i shall do neither, i would be more inclined to short than to buy

Balerboy - 01 Dec 2009 15:17 - 790 of 903

time rf jumped ship??

cynic - 01 Dec 2009 15:52 - 791 of 903

tough call, but if he is still on board, he is now running an 11p loss ...... a cautious man would suggest biting the bullet; indeed on reflection that would be the right call

required field - 02 Dec 2009 08:11 - 792 of 903

Staying put...for the moment....what's 10p on a 400p stock....not much in percentage terms....but 55p more is a lot better !.

cynic - 02 Dec 2009 08:19 - 793 of 903

i think you may well be making a wrong call and would do better to bite the bullet.
as i read it, Uncle AD will be quite picky as to which projects he chooses to bail out, and i don't think this t/o will come high on the priority list.
after all, whether or not the t/o goes ahead does not affect at all the financial security of UAE in any respect.
i cannot see that ENOC will be able to raise the money elsewhere, even if at 455 DGO is seen as a snip.

cynic - 02 Dec 2009 08:26 - 794 of 903

have married money to mouth and shorted at 394
L2 shows 150k bid to 450k on offer

required field - 02 Dec 2009 08:35 - 795 of 903

Cynic ? of all the shorts...with a takeover bid ?.....better to look at a possible ASC short or to go long in DES or something else...but this....good chance that there might be a rebound today....if the offer goes ahead : 60p premium at the moment...if it doesn't....so what ? : this company is worth 600p in my view... long term...

cynic - 02 Dec 2009 08:38 - 796 of 903

i already hold DES ..... i have already commented on ASC (see thread) ..... if the t/o is pulled, which to my mind is now the more likely outcome, then there will be a very sharp reversal regardless of the potential long term prospects

required field - 02 Dec 2009 08:41 - 797 of 903

If it isn't : then you will lose money...big risk....

ahoj - 02 Dec 2009 08:52 - 798 of 903

If you hold shares in TD Waterhouse, you can still vote but you should call TDW and vote on the phone.

TDW has to manually enter your vote as their online system is not linked to stocks in Ireland.

Call TDW to vote if you have an account with them.

required field - 02 Dec 2009 08:58 - 799 of 903

Not sure now as to which way to vote ?.....might just abstain.

cynic - 02 Dec 2009 09:12 - 800 of 903

not a big risk as have stop at 420
