Well hopefully 16.5 bid will be the support here, seemed to work today. Will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings since oils have had a few down days in a row. Will we rise from here or trade sideways for a while longer. Noticed HNR bounced from the low, will we follow tomorrow. Interesting times as always.

Food posts flying in, tea is on for me, beef stew with carrots and new potatoes. Not as exciting as some on here I note. Wild salmon and fillet steak, nice! Even talk of homemade ice-cream. As for sandrews apple extravaganza, tasty. Would also do some homemade apple sauce, goes nicely with some roast pork with honey and mustard rubbed into the fat, nice and crispy.

Here's hoping for a better day tomorrow. Now if we get beaten from Moldova tonight...

all quiet on the trading front. mkts are so damn uncertain right now. is it the doom and gloom of the dreaded October month hanging over us????? in all my years of trading this month always seems to have an ominous feeling about it....

anyway, if you get the impression i got out the wrong side of bed i really didn't, i am just trying to make head or tail of the jittery mkts...

Mauritania holds promise for partners
The first two wells of a new drilling campaign off the coast of Mauritania have produced encouraging results. Tev, an exploration well, and Tiof, an appraisal hole, both met pre-drill expectations.

The wells are located in production-sharing area B, where partners include Premier Oil, BG, Hardman Resources and Roc Oil. The operator is Australia's Woodside. Sterling Energy is also a player - even though it is no longer a direct stakeholder, it has a royalty agreement with Premier and gets bonus payments for additional discoveries.

really don't like the look of the broader mkt at the moment (here or over the pond). i think these october jitters may persist for a while. personally i think the outperformer going forward will be japan and i am looking at buying some out the money calls for this time next year. a word i haven't heard talked about for a while is that old favorite "decoupling". i think the time for japan to break out to 12000+ will be in spite of lacklustre mkts elsewhere.

I am very pleased to see the rise has held till now, if it was dorade that made it falter, it seems the panic sellers have now left us.
