NIGHTHAWK 6 BAGGER ON DEBUT. (HAWK)

oilyrag - 12 Mar 2007 07:10

Pre IPO price 4p
Opening price on debut 25p
Floatation price 46p to raise 14million to extend Jolly Ranch
Current fair value estimate 114p
Market cap 70.59 million.
Value of Cisco Springs investments 98 million.
Value of Vogel investments 75 million.
Desparado trucking now Nightfox 250,000 for a 50% stake with partner Running Foxes.
Centurion Project Kansas, 150,000 for a 50% stake.
Jolly Ranch Colorado, 40,000 acres cost 356,000 for a 50% stake.
Cash in bank 7.75 million.

As this EPIC opens on AIM today anything could happen. On the one hand you have traders trying to cash in a sixfold profit. You will also have a clambering of traders after shares because, firstly they could only get 75% of their allocation because of demand. Secondly at 25p this company is still way under valued.

Not stupid cynic, very wise. Averaging down and taking profits on rises is the only way to go in these markets.

Down, on short selling or desperate insti in my book. I expect that you will be in profit by end of the week.

Good luck all.

cynic - 04 Feb 2009 14:29 - 823 of 1373

hi maestro (whoops!) .... long time no hear ..... have done generally better shorting odd stocks!

deanophillips - 04 Feb 2009 17:08 - 824 of 1373

Could be a shrewd move Cynic, don't see these changing your life but I agree that they are at a price where you'll see some profit in them.
Good luck old chap

cynic - 04 Feb 2009 17:26 - 825 of 1373

i now have 20k of the poxy things, albeit that that is small beer ..... if the company is indeed taken out (within my lifetime!), then i suspect crude price will have recovered significantly and therefore the offer will also be at a multiple of today's price

hlyeo98 - 04 Feb 2009 17:51 - 826 of 1373

It's a great opportunity to buy HAWK...too cheap...bought 6k today.

halifax - 04 Feb 2009 18:03 - 827 of 1373

Why? are they selling any oil, wait for their next results, SER is a much better bet at least they have sales and production is increasing.

cynic - 04 Feb 2009 18:04 - 828 of 1373

sp never lies! ..... wait and see who is right or even if both parties are wrong!

halifax - 04 Feb 2009 18:11 - 829 of 1373

cynic agree but HAWK is a story that has so far not delivered. A lot of PI's have been scked in and we would hate to see them lose their shirts. As you may have pointed out in the past a number of small E&O oilies are likely to go out of business this year if there is no improvement in the price of oil.

cynic - 04 Feb 2009 20:19 - 830 of 1373

has HAWK not delivered as promised? ..... confess i was very much under the impression that they have drilled very few dusters, unlike say EME

oilyrag - 05 Feb 2009 07:19 - 831 of 1373

Placing at 20p to raise 7 million, to develope Jolly Ranch, Devon and waterflood projects. SP may fall to 20p region, but then as stated in RNS, oversubscribed for placement shares. That Halifax is precisely why HAWK shares are going up in the long haul, too many insti's want them.

Another question answered in the RNS is that the cost of production is as low as $25 a barrel and this is decreasing.

IMHO another no brainer. I shall be looking to top up again somewhere in the low 20's.

cynic - 05 Feb 2009 08:24 - 832 of 1373

wonder if that production cost is truly accurate.
there was a big article on this issue in the Telegraph a couple of days ago, and from memory, oil recovery in USA was approx $55, though of course there will always be oddities

oilyrag - 05 Feb 2009 08:33 - 833 of 1373

I do know that most of the wells aren't very deep, 1600 to 2500 foot approx. Maybe that has something to do with end cost.

cynic - 05 Feb 2009 08:37 - 834 of 1373

shame the whole is producing such a piddly volume that looks unlikely to be anything dramatic .... still, i suppose you and i could live happily on the proceeds

oilyrag - 05 Feb 2009 08:44 - 835 of 1373

Yes, but dont forget the acreage they have, with current spacing will ultimatly be thousands of wells.

cynic - 05 Feb 2009 08:46 - 836 of 1373

1000s of wells producing how much oil cumulatively? ...... seemingly little more than 10k bpd as far as i can determine

gnashlevel2 - 14 Feb 2009 23:21 - 837 of 1373

I know I am seen as a ramper here, which may be a fair label as I do love this company and management, but I urge all fence sitters to load up first thing Monday. And thou' shalt be very very very pleased he sez. :-)

jkd - 15 Feb 2009 02:45 - 838 of 1373

g2
you got some front ill give you that.based upon your previous posts that is and on your own admission, for anyone who might like to read them, i suggest they do.
you got some info we dont? inside info? anyway whats so special about monday?
im just going to watch and wait, but thanks for your tip. i hope others will make up their own minds and not be influenced by you.you seem to think you do no harm to others, think again.
regards
jkd

cynic - 15 Feb 2009 09:24 - 839 of 1373

JKD .... quite right ..... i am happy to be holding HAWK but would certainly not go nap on it ..... nymex was neatly stronger on friday night and if that can be maintained then for sure there will be some reflection on oil stocks ..... however, in my ever-so-humble opinion, HAWK is not remotely at the stage where it even resembles a tasty morsel for a predator .... there are much more likely candidates

kate bates - 15 Feb 2009 13:07 - 840 of 1373

Oh gawd I'm unearthing Cynics stocks and here he is in another disastrous one!! Does this fictitious company you pretend to own make hard hats?? Think you'll need a few given some of the garbage you've bet on, dear me HAWK!!! Thought you were a savvy investor old boy?????!!!!

cynic - 15 Feb 2009 19:08 - 841 of 1373

yes, i am indeed making a small loss on Hawk, but then my holding here is scarcely significant and of course the post above is self-explanatory .....

the "raddled queen" is upset i suspect because i openly admit my mistakes, whereas she .....

by the way, our successful, moderate-sized business is loosely linked to the shipping of chemicals etc ..... however, i am not here to promote the merits of our company, and indeed this is not of general interest and this BB is certainly not the place to do so.
