proptrade - 15 Oct 2004 09:40 - 827 of 7811

morning all, nice mention in the IC (i assume that was the source of your last post SWW)

thx for the heads up hilary, always appreciate news like that!

lets see if there is any follow through today. i still call these at 20 by the end of the month.

really don't like the look of the broader mkt at the moment (here or over the pond). i think these october jitters may persist for a while. personally i think the outperformer going forward will be japan and i am looking at buying some out the money calls for this time next year. a word i haven't heard talked about for a while is that old favorite "decoupling". i think the time for japan to break out to 12000+ will be in spite of lacklustre mkts elsewhere.

one mans friday morning view....

willfagg - 15 Oct 2004 10:26 - 828 of 7811

Afternoon all,

Nice up day today. Thanks for pointing out the IC tip. 20p by end of the month would be good. Cheers Prop for your morning thought, always makes interesting reading. See we are talking wind this morning, as long as it's not in the GOM! Away out for most of the day.

seawallwalker - 15 Oct 2004 14:46 - 830 of 7811

Well I must say.

I am very pleased to see the rise has held till now, if it was dorade that made it falter, it seems the panic sellers have now left us.

Thanks for all the good stuff this week guys and gals, it's been fun!

Last visit in today as I have to prepare the dinner.

Have a good weekend all.

Speak next week.

Sterling Energy PLC
15 October 2004

Sterling Energy plc ('Sterling' or the 'Company')

Board Resignation and Appointment

Sterling is announcing the resignation of Nigel Quinton, its Operational and
Technical Director. Nigel will leave the Group's employment at the end of
December. He has been involved in the development of Sterling from its
inception as a private limited partnership in 2000, through the reverse takeover
of LEPCO plc in October 2002 and the successful takeover of Fusion completed in
2003. Nigel feels it is a good time to move on and the Company wishes him every
success.

Harry Wilson, Chief Executive, said 'We are proud of the successes that the
Sterling team has had to date. I am confident that following our acquisition of
Fusion Oil & Gas plc late last year and the consolidation of our offices in
Houston and Perth, the experienced management team we have put in place is now
well positioned to see us successfully through the next stages of our
development.'

The Board of Sterling is also delighted to announce that Alan Levison, 53, has
now joined the Board as an independent non-executive director of the Company.
Alan has a wealth of experience in the energy sector and in African affairs
having worked for over 30 years in worldwide positions at British Gas, Chevron,
Petro SA and others.

respect to his appointment:

Full name: Alan Levison

Age: 53

Current directorships or partnerships:
Foxley Engineering Limited
Eclipse Energy Limited

Directorships or partnerships held within the last 5 years:

There are no other matters that are required to be announced with regard to this
appointment.

I read this but do not see why it should have and negative influence. They seem to have a strong organisation and structure, and announced a further appointment to the board of directors at the same time

Andy - 15 Oct 2004 16:29 - 833 of 7811

willfagg,

I agree, no reaction from the market in what looks like an orderley exit from the company.

Interesting that the new non exec has a previous position with FOG!

seawallwalker - 15 Oct 2004 16:49 - 834 of 7811

He knows, you know!!!!!!!!

;-)

seawallwalker - 15 Oct 2004 16:52 - 835 of 7811

Probably still holds a fortune in sahres left over from Fusion Oil & Gas, made out of the redundency and back he comes.

Nice one Nig!

gavdfc - 15 Oct 2004 16:53 - 836 of 7811

Agree with the above, don't see it as a bad move which will affect us. From the statement:

"Alan has a wealth of experience in the energy sector and in African affairs
having worked for over 30 years in worldwide positions at British Gas, Chevron,
Petro SA and others."

So the new director is not exactly new to the industry! Also, as Andy points out, was on the board of Fusion and look at the deal they did to get the Mauritania program. Have to say that i'm confident this is not a bad move.

Bring on next week. Happy as always!

Have a good weekend all.

Dorade-1 Exploration Well - PSC 2

Progress and Current Status:
Since the last report (5 October 2004) Dorade-1 has been drilled to TD and
wireline logs have been run. Evaluation of the wireline data indicates that
Dorade-1 has not encountered any hydrocarbons. Some good quality Late Miocene

Note: There are no plans to drill-stem test any exploration well in the current
drilling campaign.

Well Location:
The Dorade-1 prospect is located approximately 165 kilometres southwest of
Nouakchott, the Mauritanian capital, and 85 kilometres southwest of the
Chinguetti Field. Water depth is 1,670 metres, and the total depth of the well
was 2,600 metres.

Well Details:
The Dorade-1 exploration well was drilled to test a Late Miocene channel sand
fairway. The main target was intersected at approximately 2,400 metres depth.

Other information:

All reported depths are referenced to the rig rotary table (except water depth).

Times and dates refer to GMT (Mauritania time), 8 hours behind Western Standard

A map showing the location of the wells will be available on the Hardman website

Morning all. Hope everyone had a good weekend. The RNS doesn't seem to have affected us. New drilling update tomorrow morning to look forward to.

proptrade - 18 Oct 2004 09:30 - 839 of 7811

morning. agree with the comments so far, lets focus on our drill interests. it would of course have been a great boost but was widely talked about last week. tomorrow's update is something to look forward to it will be a quiet day today....

seawallwalker - 18 Oct 2004 10:10 - 840 of 7811

Hi guys.

Exactly roght.

I see HNR are on the way back having dropped a bit.

Typical over reaction to news.

All good I think otherwise.

proptrade - 18 Oct 2004 10:25 - 841 of 7811

another case of relax, sit tight and wait for the news.

had a fab sunday lunch yesterday..roast beef, yorkies and roast potatoes and mashed swede. thought i would share it with you guys on this increasingly gastronomic thread.

seawallwalker - 18 Oct 2004 10:27 - 842 of 7811

lol

seawallwalker - 18 Oct 2004 10:31 - 843 of 7811

Pushed the boat out and went to Brewers Fayre.

Outstanding Sunday Lunch for the money.

Lamb with shallots in a rosemary gravy, in a suet pudding, mash two veg, 6.95, plus a pud of course, latte coffee, very nice.

Don't know if they all come up to the same measure, but this was excellent.

Total bill for 4 was just over 50, and the good news was the Missus paid for it ;-))

Plus nectar points of course, which I had!

proptrade - 18 Oct 2004 10:43 - 844 of 7811

ooohhh, sounds at least as on par with mine. nothing like a lazy lunch for four on a sunday...

love the nectar point reference, nothing like VFM and a bonus!

gavdfc - 18 Oct 2004 10:50 - 845 of 7811

Think I lost on the Sunday lunch front. Steak pie, mashed potatoes and green beens, no pud or Nectar points. Still good but not as good as you two. Offer moved up to 18p now.
